lofgren
It's not a matter of bandits being too easy alone. It's a problem of bandits being too easy and everything else being too hard. I don't see the use of a mod that makes bandits a cakewalk but everything else impossible. You would basically have two modes: boredom and running away, at least until level 40 or so. If you peg everything at half or 3/4 from the very beginning, level 1 PCs would get slaughtered just stepping outside a city.
ShoshinUK
I do see your point, so it needs to able to adjust when it goes off balance, maybe 1/4 and 3/4 is the right mix? Keep in mind the application of other specific mods can change required elements to suit the player, significantly and this is an essential part of the overall requirement. A simple example is a powerful sneak damage mod, from the start. Using this method low level players have a good chance of beating a significantly tougher opponent. But you need to do it well or you will get caught out etc. The requirement of an NPC may be a suitable tool to get through the lower character levels etc, but you need the coin to make that happen, so go earn it etc. Either way I'm pleased you see what I'm going on about and thank you for your input, its helped me a lot in understanding the game mechanics better.
