CobraSA
I just joined the mages and fighters guilds in Chorrol and I have already stolen everything and everyone in the houses of these guilds. Of course I made sure no one noticed my thievery (or I would be banished from the guild). Still, somewhere deep inside me I can't help to wonder if this may backfire at me in any way or form in the future? Anyone could reassure me?
ub3rman123
Nah, it's just clutter. Don't steal any black soul gems from the Chorrol basement, though.

Because I have already stolen the gems there. Please explain how it is going to backfire at me?

The black soul gems in the Chorrol Mages' Guild basement are needed for a Mages' Guild quest, so I'd put them back if you can, otherwise you won't be able to complete the Mages' Guild questline. ub3rman123
But they are behind a Locked Level 100 door, so you shouldn't have even gotten in there 'til the end of the Chorrol Recommendation quest.
CobraSA
But they are behind a Locked Level 100 door, so you shouldn't have even gotten in there 'til the end of the Chorrol Recommendation quest.I did complete the chorrol recommendation quest. AGAIN PLEASE TELL ME WHAT YOU CALL "CHORROL BASEMENT" EXACTLY. I don't have a clue what you're talking about. Are you talking about the level below the floor 1 INSIDE the Mage guild building? Because I haven't seen any gem in that place, only clutter, food and a few potions. The only gems I found are in floor 1 and floor 3 of the mage guild building inside showcases. So I really need to understand what you're calling chorrol basement.
bben46
Common definition of basement: The lowermost portion of a structure partly or wholly below ground level; often used for storage. In this case, it is the level below the one you enter the Chorrol mages guild. There is a locked room there that can only be accesses when or after doing the quest. You cannot complete the quest without finding the black soul gems hidden there. Taking them during the quest is not considered stealing. If you are a member of the mages guild, you can take just about anything from the guild halls without being accused of stealing. And if you are a member of the fighters guild, the same. The only things that can be stolen are those where the hand icon turns red when you hover over them. This is a cheap way of racking up a small pile of gold early in the game - just join a guild and take everything laying around all of the various guild halls without doing any of the guild quests - then sell it to buy the best equipment you can get. The only gems I found are those in showcase in F1 and F3. Maybe I didn't find these black soul gems because they are too well hidden... For the record where are these gems hidden exactly? schijnn
Heh, I think we're confusing Chorrol with Cheydinhal, here. The black soul gems are in the Cheydinhal Mages' Guild basement. I'm not sure the Chorrol guild hall even has a basement. D'oh!
