Question: Two Weapon Skills = Useless?

There are a lot of classes with both blade and blunt, and I'm wondering if this is actually useful. I'm wondering if I'm missing something here. Ideally, wouldn't you just specialise in one and carry that one weapon type around? (I can understand blade + marksman or blunt + marksman)

Same for armor, any real point in having both heavy and light armor for skills?

From a pure role-playing perspective it really doesn't make much sense to have both Blade and Blunt or both Heavy Armor and Light Armor as primary skills. Real people in the real world don't try to become experts at everything. The chances are, in-game you'll wind up only using one or two favorite weapons, anyway. I don't even worry about Blunt. The reason is that there is a greater variety of bladed weapons available in the Vanilla game, and even mods tend to add more of them and leave out hammers and axes (which are, inexplicably, "blunt" weapons in this game, crazy as that might sound).

Your choice of playing style should dictate whether you go with Heavy Armor or Light Armor, but will probably have little to do with your choice of weapons, since bladed and blunt weapons are pretty much equivalent in their ability to take out an enemy. If you're going to be doing a lot of up-front get-in-your-face fighting then you're better off with Heavy Armor, of course. Otherwise, go for Light Armor. Indeed, if you play a character who is primarily a mage then you might want to forgo an armor skill as primary. You can get (or make) enchanted clothing which gives you nearly the same protection as armor, anyway, and that doesn't detract from your ability to use magic.
