My ~ is above # on right hand side, everyone sais its under esc on left hand side, will console commands still work if i press ~/# on right hand side? :confused:

Different language keyboards have different key characters for the console key. However the key needed is in the same place. it is located in the far left, usually to the immediate left of the Number one key.

Mostly because, contrary to popular belief, the button bound to games is not actually ~, but ` (On the same button)

Games that do have ~ bound for the console usually need to have shift pressed first.

That's because people may confuse the ` key with the ' key or the , key. Usually, the ~ character does not look like any other on an English keyboard...hence being referenced as the "tilde" key. So yes, if you re-map keys in an INI file, make sure you reference the correct key or suffer the consequences. :whistling:
