Are there any modelling programs with decent support?

I'm trying to find a modeling program which is able to import .nifs, i've tried blender but it's just too complicated and 3ds 2011 doesn't have enough support so i can't import nifs. Does anyone have maya 2010? and what's it like?

Not sure what you mean by 3DS doesn't have enough support, but I've used 3DS 2011 64bit and have been able to import and export nifs fine
