Why does CK keep marking cells as edited (*) when I've never even visited them?

I've been working on this house mod (I merged a few tinier homes so I wouldn't need to redo every single damn static fruit and cup), and I went to scour it on TES5Edit only to find this horror:

I've NEVER visited any of these vanilla cells. The only edits the mod does is in 2 worldspace cells and adds new interior cells.

How the hell has it marked all these random cells as visited/edited?

Of course it's very easy to fix in edit, it's not an issue for me, I am just really curious if anyone has an idea why it happens.

Could be a bug. I've run into a different, but possibly related problem in the Oblivion CS where some unaltered objects will get flagged as edited whenever I enable the havok sim in its cell. Delightful huh? Sorry if this doesn't help.

Uh - now I understand ...

When I created my "Ducks and Swans for Cyrodiil" I had this too. Lots of dead creatures that I never touched flagged as edited. Well, of course I had to run the havok sim for the animations each time I placed a duck or swan. Yes, it was very "delightful" because it did not make any sense to me.

Yeah, that little problem drove me crazy when I was trying to clean Devastation of Kvatch. But I'm glad to know that I managed to help someone at least.

Be careful. CK is bugged. If you're in the CK too long you will notice other oddities.

I had a skeleton edited, an interior cell deleted and even navmesh edited in an old personal mod that doesn't touch navmesh.

Every mod should be run through TESVedit. If it is a big mod. Many times. I also try to not stay in the CK more then an hour before closing it and opening it again.

Dungeon and house designers are also in great demand for me. Basically anything that can be done out of house, IE outside my esp and then imported in, speeds the overall completion of the mod drastically. Not to mention I am rubbish at interior design.

But then you say this.

Lol Ok I don't have this problem and I stay in the ck for like .. 8+ hours sometimes at the least

What are you doing in the CK?

It sounds like you have other people doing your Level design and perhaps other things you can bash into it. Perhaps your lack of glitches is due to the impact you have on your mod, from your PC.

I'm lucky if I get more than 6 minutes out of the CK, it can now crash even while I'm not actually doing anything. I have to save every single time I close an editor window or it will plan to crash at the most inconvenient time, usually after a long list of batch edits or when I finally figured out some critical fix that will take me 10 minutes to reproduce after the crash.

If I even go to look at another cell, it marks it as modified, so I have to sweep through with TESVEdit all the time to look for little "presents" left by the CK.

Lol in a given 9 hour period I will do everything from create new statics, actors, place them, change interiors around, import interiors, change landscape, gen navmeshes, create quests, add audio, etc etc.

And I just take others levels, copy them to a new esp, then copy from that new esp into Discorld. Then I have to change craptons of stuff to make it fit the quest :)

It might be because I am inside a new worldspace maybe and I never ever open a vanilla interior cell or anything anymore IDK

But ya son, don't downplay da Discworld work AMG!!!

I mean I get where it sounds like I don't spend my soul into this sometimes, but I really do
