gungfuguru
Not at all a great issue, but the idle thought crossed my mind: oblivion would be more immersive to stealth characters (and others) if we could climb trees. We could scout out an area, get our bearings, lay in wait, or travel through forests and avoid bandits. A hunter (or assassin) could stalk his or her prey form the tree tops. Just an idea. Ferryt
The problem with that is that trees aren't the 3D objects they look like. They're "billboards", with the branches/leaves essentially being on a flat plane that the game engine automatically re-orients so that its facing your POV. It would be like trying to climb up a flat sheet of paper with a drawing of the top of a tree on it.
documn
I think it's possible to climb trees with Unnecessary Violence. I also remember seeing another older climbing mod, but I forgot what it's called.
gungfuguru
I didn't see anything about climbing trees mentioned in that in-game book with UV (I'm running the latest version) making the trees physical entities seems far fetched when you consider how many there are and how much code that might need. perhaps I won't see this dream come to fruition. ah well. :)

documn
Oh, hmmm. I guess Unnecessary Violence isn't on version 2 yet. I saw the climbing in this trailer, around the 5 minute mark:
