Starlly
Hello all! I am new here and I was wondering if there is a way to convert Sims clothing to Oblivion? I didn't see anything on this subject when I searched only about Sims hair.
The_Vyper
Hello all! I am new here and I was wondering if there is a way to convert Sims clothing to Oblivion? I didn't see anything on this subject when I searched only about Sims hair.Converting files from one game to use in another is illegal and not discussed here. Sorry. If you want Sims clothing in Oblivion, you'll have to make it from scratch or find someone willing to do it for you.
SavageArtistry
I doubt it's illegal if the items being converted are items created by modders for the sims, without using any resources from the sims, particularly if permission is sought. http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_rolleyes.gif
Drazius
Yep I convert Sims clothing all the time, it's actually pretty easy. Use the program SimPE to extract the mesh file as an .obj and go from there. Either work the obj file into a mesh yourself or copy the NiTriShapeData from the Sims 2 clothing into an existing piece of clothing, overwriting the original. Then edit the mesh with Transform until it's positioned correctly and import it into to Blender to weight paint it. I've found that a lot of the Sims 2 clothing is low poly though, so it doesn't hurt to Subdivide a few key areas to get a better shape.
