Karakanov
Hey all. I recently reinstalled New Vegas to replay it, as it's one of my favorite games, and figured I would do some modding this time around in order to have a nice new feel to the game. I'm not running too many mods, but I can't seem to play the game for any more than 10 minutes without the game crashing on me. From time to time I've gotten the "Out of Memory!" error for some odd reason, and I've tried to counteract that with the 4GB update to the NVSE .exe file. I do have archiveinvalidation installed, in case anyone has any wonders about that giving me issues. Here is my current load order: FalloutNV.esm = 1DeadMoney.esm = 1HonestHearts.esm = 1OldWorldBlues.esm = 1LonesomeRoad.esm = 1GunRunnersArsenal.esm = 1TribalPack.esm =1MercernaryPack.esm = 1ClassicPack.esm = 1CaravanPack.esm = 1Project Nevada - Core.esm = 1Project Nevada - Equipment.esm = 1Project Nevada - Rebalance.esp = 1Project Nevada - Cyberware.esp = 1Weapons.of.the.New.Millenia.esm = 1VanessaFollowerNV.esm = 0FCOMaster.esm = 0YUP - Base Game+All DLC.esm = 1New Vegas Redesigned 3.esm = 1Gomorrah Redesigned.esp = 1YUP - NPC Fixes (Base Game+All DLC).esp = 1dD - Enhanced Blood Main NV.esp = 1Cass alternate version.esp = 1Weapons.of.the.New.Millenia.HonestHearts.esp = 1Weapons.of.the.New.Millenia.LeveledLists.esp = 1Weapons.of.the.New.Millenia.Store.esp = 1FCO - Willow.esp = 0FCO - Glowing One.esp = 0FCO - Delilah.esp = 0EVE FNV - ALL DLC.esp = 1The Weapon Mod Menu.esp = 1New Vegas Redesigned 3.esp = 1FCO - Willow (Cazy).esp = 0 Where a 1 is the mods I have checked, and a 0 is the ones I do not. I have no idea if I'm having a load order, compatibility, or whatever issue, but any help into what's going on to make NV stop crashing and more stable is appreciated. Deleted54170User
Are you playing it with the server connection Online? First time I had New Vegas installed I got the same problems with STEAM settings. I right clicked on the game and did the verify games stuff first. One Saturday morning I pulled the plug on my modem to refresh it settings, and forgot to plug it back in, because I was relaxing with a nice cup of hot cocoa. I signed into STEAM; still did not remember to plug my modem power plug back in. I got the message STEAM account could not connect. Try connecting again, or choose to play in the offline mode, and I played New Vegas in the offline mode, all afternoon, without any latency, or memory overload with RAM. Then I tried to check my email and discovered the modem was not plugged in. You can choose to play in the offline mode when you sign in too. You can set it to Offline just by clicking on the STEAM menu button, or, pull the plug on your modem, try both ways and see if it works! Never hurts to refresh your modem with a reboot once in awhile. Either.
gooeymonster
and I've tried to counteract that with the 4GB update to the NVSE .exe file. Hmm, maybe I read this wrong, but are you actually using the FNV4B executable? http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/35262/? Once you get this, use the fnv4gb executable, don't run it from NVSE as fnv4gb will automatically detect it and run with it. EDIT : this is the new version of FNV4GB http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/55061/?tab=1&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fnewvegas%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D55061%26preview%3D&pUp=1 Edited January 19, 2015 by gooeymonster
luthienanarion
I never once encountered "out of memory" errors until I updated my AMD video drivers. If you did that recently, try rolling them back.
