Stopple
So I'm about 30 hours in on this character, been having a lot of fun despite tons of CTDs at various times, but whatever. Recently offed some outcast BoS members and ganked a set of power armor that looked quite appealing http://imgur.com/GtvAl.jpg After fitting it at a workbench, the stats take a big hit! http://imgur.com/QOdGM.jpg And here is my mod list http://imgur.com/MCKMz.jpg So I guess my question is.. what am I doing wrong? Is there a skill I need to retain the original stats?
GrindedStone
I reckon this is from yet another mod which was merged into FWE. This one being the mod which somewhat makes power armor more fancy, from it being fitted. If you had read the read me I bet it would explain it an this post wouldn't exist. But since you didn't let's just figure it out. Just a guess, power armor is probably set up to run a script when it's equiped (put on) Anyhow what this script does is switch the item from the Vanilla power armor to another version of the power armor, this probalby being based of the players stats. You can tell this because the Form's in-game name changed from Power Armor to Power Armor (fitted) which is only really possible if there were alternate forms. It's actually quite ingenious by design. 10 different versions of Power Armor with different stat bonus. Then a object script placed on the vanilla power armor so it switches to one of the 10 based off the players stats. I would think it would be cooler if they had added discriptive In-game names to the power armor, rather than have them all named Power Armor (fitted). For example I would name one of them Power Armor (anoying pipsqueak) or Power Armor (Sally Jones) , LOL, Power Armor (Destroyer of Worlds)... Yah sure ingenious design, but pfft seems totally lame. For one thing Power Armor is a mechanical powered suit what has the players stats got to do with it. Perhaps it's that we don't fully understand it, for example if there was many training dialogs or quests you could do to increase your skill with power armor. Now that's super cool, heck maybe that is what it is. You should look into it. Or create that mod.
Moduser336
This is really old, but in case anyone else did a google search and wondered the same thing.
Jussmati
I wondered the same thing and just before I started to tweak the armor properties, I decided to have a quick look in the internet. Anyway, I found out, that with FWE it's supposed to be like that and by advancing your power armor training (perk), you will have better stats for the armor. Site for the info (look in the power armor overhaul section):https://sites.google.com/site/fo3wanderersedition/detailed-changes/03equipment#TOC-Armor-Rebalance-Additions As for why the power armor had better stats in the beginning, I don't know. I suppose it's got to do with implementing FWE. Perhaps the stats change when you put on the armor (or fit it) or perhaps the FWE power armor overhaul was meant only for fitted armors (and the one with the better stats had the vanilla stats).
