adding author "box" around co-author's comments

Hi,

I/we have a couple of mods out that seem to be relatively well liked. I did not do these all by myself. I have a great partner that worked hard on these. He would never ask for this, but out of respect for him and his hard work, I would like to request an addition to the uploaded files features for co_authors comments to be "boxed" like the main author/uploader's comments are. Is it possible to have members that you give editing access to your mods have the "box around their comments" as well?

Thanks for your consideration.

I also think that the author "box" moderator and admin posts have should be removed becouse they are not co-authors and it's confusing having so many yellow boxed posts. (I'm joking):whistling:

Now, for the more serious part, that will not earn me a ban, I think that it's both fair and it has it's uses, since people tend to pay more attention to boxed posts(above statement is ughm...let's say flexible  ). So your friend's posts will be noticed a lot more easy if this will be implemented.

Cheers for your good idea,

Pushkatu!

I don't know if it is a good idea to have ALL the editing people's comments boxed as I can see the potential of that being abused.....maybe an extra mod details option that adds a place for co-author's to be added and only have them boxed? I don't think it will benefit the site if modder's friends get their comments boxed, but the co-authors getting the "box" made sense to me seeing that only one person can upload the file and there are mods that have more than one author sometimes.

I definitely support this.

We are talking about the 'ol 80/20 rule here. There will always be exceptions but anyone that uploads a mod and gives editing access to others should be considered co-authors / co-editors since they have the power to control the mods destiny at that point.

Ok, true. If people shouldn't have access they should belong in a thank you list and not editors.

Anyone that has full access to edit the page description, add/remove files and images should be knowledgeable about the mod to have their comments hilighted like the person that uploaded it. How many mods have you seen where the person uploading the mod was not the author....but their comments are highlighted as such.

Fair enough...had not considered that aspect of my request. I guess I was fixated on my own particular situation.....that is why we have the rest of you guys though.

Once it's enabled it will apply for everyone that uses the co-author thingy. It's nice to see how members like yourself help improve the sites with what seems to be simple ideas at first, but will later turn into something that will most likely please more people. This is what means to be a community and re-reading all the posts here, I just had one of those "Of course...." feelings.

Have a nice evening,

Pushkatu!

PS: Damn since I quit

drinking and smoking

I have a feeling I'm becoming a nice person....odd.
