wesaynothin
On the in game Morrowind thing (the triangle background at the menu screen) there are three letters in Daedric. They are A S O Does anyone know what they stand for?
tmons78
Actually, I think that they are an "A," an "S," and a "V." The "O" in that language has a little dot in the middle of it. I too noticed this, and as far as I can tell, they stand for Almalexia, Sotha Sil, and Vivec. At least that's my guess.
thanateros
It only makes sense that it would be first letter of each of the false gods. what I don't understand is why the temple still used Daedric caligraphy instead of a Tribunal based one. wesaynothin
You notice Daedric calligrapy on the town signs. And on scrolls. I think they use that as their alphabet actually. I never encountered a tribunal-based alphabet.
thanateros
That's because there isn't one. Also when you're in the Halls of Justice and Wisdom there are paper lanterns used to light the hallways and those also have Daedric letters on them. There are a lot of things that you just eventually pick up on when it comes to Daedric characters. Take scrolls for example....It's kinda all around cool to see the old tradions still have a prominent effect on the current society. If only there was an expansion that was Daedric oriented...and if only I would get off my ass and actaully start the one I have planned.
Peregrine
Not too suprised that daedric influences still remain. I mean, the daedra are much older than the Tribunal, and have had much more time to leave their mark on the culture. I'd imagine that the Tribunal still uses Daedric just out of convenience, instead of having to make and teach a new language. I think of the script you see as more of the basic language of Vvardenfell, whatever its origins may be. And of course all the conversations, etc, would use it, but its translated for playability purposes.
