furtim
Yeah, just lost a quicksave as well, so it seems I lucked out the first time. What a load of s***. It's not Steam's fault, everybody else seems to figure out how to get the Steamcloud stuff working correctly. My money's on shitty save/load code held over from way back in the Oblivion days. As much as I loved Oblivion and Fallout 3, they had both handle savegames incredibly stupidly. I mean, there's not even a way to organise the saves by character if you wanted to play more than one at the same time. If their code can't handle a feature that basic, I'm not surprised it's falling apart now that it's trying to play nicely with third-party APIs like GFWL and Steamcloud. furtim
<snip>Genius stuff that worked perfectly.</snip> That workaround did the trick in my case, by the way, so nice going on that. If only Bethesda's and Obsidian's QA team were so perceptive...
Akadai
If you want custom saves, try the console command "save namegoeshere" It'll make a new save with whatever name you want (IE character name) For example, I'd type save Akadai01Then I'll just change the last number when I want to save to a new slot, or the same number if I want to overwrite
