jugoslaven Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 The nvidia DDS tools havent been updated for years, and are not available for 64 bit versions of photoshop so Ive been using crazybump thus far to convert to and from *.dds but its really impractical and you cant control compression format(DXT1,3,5 etc.) I tried DDS converter 2 but it doesnt work. So now Im looking for a small and useful piece of software that will let me convert files quick and easy with access to all the compression and mipmap settings you need.
Quetzlsacatanango Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 paint.net supports dds natively,and it's free.
throttlekitty Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 I use Texture Tools 2. It's a command-line app in case that bothers you, but it has great quality and options.
WatersMoon110 Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 I use The Gimp with this plugin. One can just edit the .dds files directly.
Tyz51 Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 The old Plug-in works for my CS4, you just have to manually install it.
VinnyBlood Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 The plugin works fine but only in the x86 version of photoshop.
