STEAM? REALLY? I'm out - how about you
jugoslaven replied to ICERAY2000's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
A standalone game is always superior to a Steam release, given that you dont have to have to be online and that you dont need the client running the the background. The problems come when one game uses GFWL, another Steam and a third EA download. Thats when you get a huge mess. And yes, modding is good for everyone so games should be open. An active game community can keep a game alive for years after release, -
The nvidia DDS tools havent been updated for years, and are not available for 64 bit versions of photoshop so Ive been using crazybump thus far to convert to and from *.dds but its really impractical and you cant control compression format(DXT1,3,5 etc.) I tried DDS converter 2 but it doesnt work. So now Im looking for a small and useful piece of software that will let me convert files quick and easy with access to all the compression and mipmap settings you need.

Vanilla texture/mesh replacements
jugoslaven replied to LilBudyWizer's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
In my case, trying to replace hair meshes resulted in all hair being displaced so they clipped with the head mesh. -
Where can i get tutorials for 3ds rigging?
jugoslaven replied to robertward203's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
If what you want to do is attach a mesh to an already existing skeleton, it's called "skinning" or "weighting". There are tutorials for it that come with 3ds Max and there's also plenty of info about it in the help files. -
'showracemenu' doesnt work anymore?
jugoslaven replied to jugoslaven's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
For some odd reason, I got it to work. I think that perhaps it was because I typed 'Showracemenu' instead of 'ShowRaceMenu'. -
I noticed that the old console commands doesnt work anymore. Well, they do work, but they bring up the old FO3 menu that doesnt work. Has anyone found the console commands for FNV's character editor?
