x0diak
Still waiting... Ok, so you can have great Karma, and be hated by all factions? How about if you are disguised? Bueller?
DocSeanson
To my the Karma Unbalanced, Each faction has a coresponding title that fits your Reputation and Karma rating. If you have good karma , but are Vilified by the Leigon you are known as Good Natured Rascal. You can be completely Evil ( -2000 Karma) but still be Idolized by most factions. That is until you have a quest where you need to act against that faction. Expect to take a big hit after only killing 3 or 4 members of that faction. Hope this helps. revelationjp
the karma decisions in new vegas are more subtle than in FO3. You won't see a dialog where you choose eitehr the good or evil decision. instead, you make the decision via your actions. for example -----spoiler---- in the Novac quest to get rid of the gouls, you're just told to get rid of them. It's your choice wether to go in and shoot them all (an evil karma move) or diplomaticaly convince them to leave. another is an NCR checkpoint where you're asked to deal with some hostages the Legion has taken, so that they lose this advantage. You can go in and kill the hostages, or rescue them. Sometimes you don't even realize that you're making a karma choice. It's one of the things I really like about this game. zerrodefex
haven't seen karma based companions nor karma based decisions... The only one I know of is Cass, she will not join you if your karma is evil. Also in my dialogue with the Legate at the end there was a speech option that showed [Karma] as the condition and it allowed me to convince the Legate to call off his guards and face me alone. kedikat
It seems that Karma must be an aura about you. If you steal something, and nobody witnesses it or knows it was you, do people just sense that you will steal if required? You lose Karma, with nobody knowing the deed. It seems that the acts are deemed wrong, without considering the situation fully. No fuzzy situational ethics in the wastelands? I need this bullet to fight evil, but if I steal it, I lose Karma. If I am a real lousy shot and need to steal a lot of bullets to do good, my Karma won't balance out. Will my bad Karma get me those chicks that dig bad boys? gsmanners
Karma was always more a nod to Fallout 3's Disneyesque notions of good and evil rather than any measure of something definite. Honestly, I'm a little surprised they left it in. I don't suppose we have a mod that removes it (and removes any unsightly dependencies on it)?
