Follow this instruction of this post:

Legitimate Fallout 3 DLC Conversions -DLCC-

http://newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34987

I know that having "legitimate" in the name sounds a lot like having a bar named "Legitimate Meeting Place for People Who Are Totally Mafia" but I put that in there so you'll hear me out instead of assuming that I'm just another noob posting official content illegally.

This is an attempt to allow people who purchased the DLC for Fallout 3 to enjoy the awesome armors and maybe even the weapons from those games in the world of New Vegas.

THIS MOD CONTAINS NO TEXTURES OR MESHES AND NEVER WILL. THIS MOD ONLY CONTAINS AND WILL ONLY EVER CONTAIN .esp FILES.

If you do not own the DLC this mod does nothing for you except add a nice pair of giant exclaimation marks to your game!

I'll be uploading different DLC components as I finish them. Right now I'm just uploading a proof of concept and testing the water to make sure that I don't get *****slapped by Bethesda after putting a lot of work into this. Unless I am asked to take this down (in which case I will comply without complaint) updates will be coming quite often (hopefully) over the next week or so.

Latest Version: 0.1

Right now the only file is a proof of concept which brings the cowboy outfit from Zeta into New Vegas. The outfit can be found right outside the General Store in Goodsprings.

Update Log:

None yet.

BSA Requirements (As of latest version):

Zeta - Main.bsa

Installation:

1. Extract this mod to your Data directory and activate it in the launcher.

<b>*WAIT DON'T GO YET! THERE'S MORE!*</b>

2. Before using the mod, copy all DLC bsa files listed above as required from your Fallout 3 Data directory and into your New Vegas Data directory.

3. Rename the bsa files so they have the name of the related esp for this mod at the start of their name. Ex. "Zeta - Main.bsa" should be "DLCC_Zeta - Main.bsa"

4. Now you're ready to play!

If you do not copy the bsa and rename properly it you'll end up with a pair of giant exclamation marks!

Notes:

One of the nice features of this method conversion is that this mod is totally backwards compatible with any mesh replacers for body mods like Type 3 or HGEC. Just install them to the New Vegas Data directory like you would the install them to the Fallout 3 Data directory.

Known Bugs:

The hats may or may not end up being worn sideways instead on your head. Fixing this would require including a .egm which I'm not going to do for this mod. If I can't fix it in the esp I'm going to leave it for someone else to release a patch if they feel brave enough. I'm trying my best to stay within the bounds of legality.

Silly Questions:

Q: Where can I download the textures and meshes from the DLC without buying the DLC?

A: Die in a fire.

He didn't say anything about DLC, he's talking about community-made mods like on fallout3nexus.

Rauco: Some of them probably work with no modification, but in most cases you'll probably need to wait for the original authors to port them.

Replacers like face textures, body mods and the like don't need to be ported, just put them in as you would with FO3. Armours are done in the GECK, just create a new armour using the files from the original armour, give it some stats and put it in the gameworld. If you plan on sharing then ask the creator of the original work first unless it clearly states in the readme that reusing the work is fine, don't share any of the default stuff from FO3, Bethesda get a bit cranky about that.

To port plugins:

-Create a blank plugin in the New Vegas GECK.

-Move it to Fallout 3 data folder.

-Open FOMM.

-Open the blank plugin and the plugin you want to port in TESsnip.

-Copy over the necessary entries (ARMO for armor, HAIR for hair, etc.).

-Save and move the plugin back to your New Vegas data folder.

This isn't foolproof, but it'll work for hair and eyes fine. You'll probably have to add the hair and eyes to each race manually.

thanks guys, I already started playing around with the NV GECK, I actually understood some of what you said. Hey Alpha, yea Furtim was right, I was/am talking about community made mods. but it's good to know, thanks.

I already started to modify NV mods and am using in my game, waiting for permission to upload on a few of them.

for example:

http://newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34985&navtag=file/images.php?id=34985&tab=3#fileanchor

didn't like the original stats as I considered it cheating, and I have no cheating mentality playing through a game for the first time. (against cheating all together with multiplayer games)

hey Atticus, I'm still waiting for NV FOMM ^_^

Hey jim, is that the same for hair?

right now, trying to figure out how to put items in seller's inventory as so I can buy them instead of picking it up from some box the modder decided to put in. can someone point to the right direction?

what about something more complex? i'd like to convert cube experiment, and about dlc's - operation ancorage would be awesome :) as i understand Legitimate Fallout 3 DLC Conversions -DLCC- is just items port, not whole bunch

Oddly enough, Most of the Fallout: New Vegas game files contain content from the Fallout 3 DLC's. For example, the Cottonwood Cove Overlook houses and doors are all from the Point Lookout DLC. The Gauss rifle in FO:NV is also from Operation: Anchorage DLC.

And even more curious, the DLC that got the most severed was Broken Steel. Hellfire armor is removed, along with a majority of things. Some of the NPC's for the Presidential metro still exist in the files, but the models and textures have been removed. One of the surviving items is the Tesla Cannon (though they may have edited the texture), and I believe the Heavy Incinerator is also one.
