Acinonyk
Hey, dont bash the xbox, some of us out there dont make enuff money to afford a pc that can handle morrowind.(well i could, but not much point) Morrowind plays just fine on the xbox, no slowdown, hardly any bugs(on my games anyway),ill wager its just as fun on xbox as it is on pc. and yes mircosoft is not the best, but pc's today wouldn't be what they are now without microsoft--- Love mr. gates or hate mr. gates for that, your choice. Oh and by the way Bethesda was thinking of enabling mods for xbox morrowind GOTY via xbox live , but decided to put their time and resources into making sure the exspansions played well on xbox, and making new content, testing etc. Come to think of it, it's too bad that the contruction set isnt on xbox, at least you could make ur own mods, wouldn't be very fun though, probably why it isnt there.
thanateros
HAHAHAHA I told you people that Xbox could upload mods now didn't I? As for the change in look NM....that's for a different thread. I think people don't know enough about the capabilities of what exactly the Xbox can do. I think it can also be upgraded as far as RAM is concerned as well. One advantage it has over other consoles is that it is Microsoft, and since they know PC's they also know that they evolve and designed the Xbox to be upgradable if game developers want next gen game engines on the Xbox. Peregrine
Yes, you might be able to do some upgrading, but you're very limited in what you can do. Of course this is true for any console right now. With a pc, there's a massive amount of components that you can get, endless manufacturers, quality, price, etc. Pretty much anything you could want can be done without a complete replacement and with little effort. But with a console, you're limitied to few (if any) upgrades, and only what the manufacturer decides to sell. So if you want the next level of quality, you don't have much choice other than buying a new console, when/if it comes out. And even then, there's not much backwards compatibility. You want to play an old console game with your new one? Not too likely, except for the ps1/2. But with a computer, you can run ANYTHING ever made, up to what your hardware supports. That's what I mean about upgradability. And yes, I'll admit that there's probably no technical reason why you couldn't have mods for an xbox game, but its just a nice idea right now. The simple fact is, there are no mods/mod support. You don't have the massive mod community like you do with morrowind or half-life for example. And that definitely restricts your game options. And as for the "advantage" microsoft has, I'm not too sure about that. Remember, microsoft's main business is operating systems/office software. Hardware and gaming in general are a much smaller part. They may know that the design will evolve, but history shows that the "upgrade" is in the form of a completely new product. Which will happen, those nice next generation game engines will work just fine on xbox2!
Acoran
ill wager its just as fun on xbox as it is on pc.Actually it isn't i've palyed both of an extencive amount of time as has my friend and neither of us liked it on xbox....although i guess that is opinion. And to be critical my friend had morrowind long before me and had previously discarded it as a bad game until i showed him the pc version.
Peregrine
ill wager its just as fun on xbox as it is on pc. And I'd wager its not. First, no mods makes the game a lot less interesting, especially once you've played through it at least once or twice. Once you've done all the standard quests, what then? There's a lot less replayability in the xbox version. And second, the control setup for any console is just terrible for anything FPSish. Keyboard/mouse are the only option!
