Murielkai
How do you set custom armor to an NPC follower without having the armor be "hidden" in their private inventory? I would like to be able to change the NPC's gear and the custom armor has a higher value so they won't switch.
GreyFox77
I would suggest using the console, clicking your NPC follower, and using ShowInventory. Then if the console output says for example 1 - Cuffed Boots (000CEE78) -You can (with the NPC still selected) typeRemoveItem 000CEE78 1And then the boots will be gone and I suppose you can then give them others. Although Im afraid if their original boots were set in their Outfit, they might eventually revert to those.
saurusmaximus
The best way in the CK would be to change their default outfit to simple clothing instead of armor, that way no matter what you give them, it will be an upgrade.
Murielkai
Yeah, that is what I was thinking, change the outfit. There is a specific outfit, however, that I like and its light armor. So I decide to duplicate the outfit and make a cloth version of it. When I open up the "outfits" menu in the CK and try to add the duplicated armor (from the form list) it doesn't show up. I assume I need to add it to some form list? Where do I add duplicated armor so that it shows up in the form list?
