McclaudEagle
I think the only way to install the game is to put it in the same directory as Steam. When installing Steam, you can change the directory, but not totally sure.
Thor.
Installing steam other then the C drive is a very bad thing to do, i tried that once and it gave me Nothing but trouble, steam is by far the worst installer of all time. the fact it requires the c drive :verymad: :verymad: :verymad: :verymad:

Thor.
I'm mainly Talking about the game being installed other then the c drive, not steam itself. Meh i guess c drive it is, but i am on a partition of 50 a piece , but i will have to do some clean up first before downloading that massive 6gb off of steam, yikes. :teehee:
Delusibeta
Firstly, I've had Steam run on a non-C drive on my previous old jalopy of a computer, and it worked perfectly. Secondly, there's a work around somewhere on the forums if you really must dictate where the install files should be. AFAIK it involves NFST Junctions, or something like that. Thirdly, if you have the disc, don't download the game, but do this instead.

peteed1985
firstly an ssd should be your windows drive and the sata drives should be your program and data drives because it speeds up pc a lot as in power up desktop and it will be fully booted and working in 8 to 10 seconds rather than minutes yet you seem to say you have it the other way around? secondly if your hard drive is over 80% full at least with sata drives I know for a fact it slows a PC down even a quad core by a lot so you should have more than 7 gig or so that you need free without even having to clean up. then again most people don't take care of their computers like that even though they are meant to
mirja
i never used steam, but my god that sounds stupid. if you cant direct the install to another hdd than c.in this day and age it forces you to install at an unwanted location, holy moly!! wtf you would need a c drive thats atleast 500gb, and what if you need to reinstall windows?formating youre c drive for win reinstall would delete all of youre steam games?? omg!!! one of the first things i learned when i got my first pc, dont ever install stuff on the same drive as youre os install. this info for sure wont make me use steam ever. so thanks for the heads up.
