JimboUK
i never used steam, but my god that sounds stupid. if you cant direct the install to another hdd than c.in this day and age it forces you to install at an unwanted location, holy moly!! wtf you would need a c drive thats atleast 500gb, and what if you need to reinstall windows?formating youre c drive for win reinstall would delete all of youre steam games?? omg!!! one of the first things i learned when i got my first pc, dont ever install stuff on the same drive as youre os install. this info for sure wont make me use steam ever. so thanks for the heads up. It will install wherever Steam is installed, if that's on C then that's where the game will go, mines on my game drive (F).

You can move it along with all the games to a different drive if you want as well, just drag the folder to where you want it, run Steam and it'll sort itself out. manho221
Steam works as others have said on different drives. Now as far as steam as an app goes I will take it any day over GFWL. Not a big fan ;)
Thor.
The game itself has no Option to install the data on other drives, steam itself had nothing to to with it. Well i have Installed it and it runs Very Smooth, Completely Maxed Out and everything, amazing no bugs as of yet  Unlike fallout 3 had several crashes to desktop during gameplay, even the launch menu, but none so far in New Vegas. Except for the install and everything, everything is a ok now, thanks for the help and the link. Sigh to bad i couldn't install the GAME on the ssd, loading times and all would be nearly none existent, all well. I hit a record with Oblivion 1sec. That's with a crap load of mods
throttlekitty
Link for instructions on moving your steam install to another directory or drive. They suggest moving the 'steamapps' folder to the desktop temporarily, but depending on your current setup, I'd suggest moving that folder elsewhere on the same drive. -If steam isn't currently installed on the drive windows exists on, that is. GamingGrannyXs3
Installing steam other then the C drive is a very bad thing to do, i tried that once and it gave me Nothing but trouble, steam is by far the worst installer of all time. the fact it requires the c drive :verymad: :verymad: :verymad: :verymad: I've never had it on the C drive and I've not had any issues. I have it on my D drive and I've not had any issues either.
