Inathero Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 Someone please add a lot more of NPC's to New Vegas (mainly on the strip/casinos. maybe freeside also). The place is just way to damn barren. So on the streets of Vegas there's a max of 10 people? really? New Vegas seems like a ghost town to me lol
ManDudeGuy Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 I agree, this is one of the major things bothering me is the lack of population.
bben46 Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 This is a common complaint with all Gambryo engine games Oblivion, Fallout 3 and New Vegas. The engine has problems when you have more than about 10 to 15 people on screen at once. Everything slows to a crawl. Your FPS takes a major hit. Any NPCs that are not very close to the main character will just stop and not move until you get close. And each nearby NPC will jump from one position to another. Combat is nearly impossible as by the time your weapon reaches an NPC they will have moved 3 times and be out of it's way - you will be 3 or so moves behind the AI. It's like being on the wrong side of 'bullet time'.
TheTuna Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 This really is kind of a bummer, it wasn't that bad with segmented towns in FO3 but with such a big place as the Strip and the Casinos it's really noticeable. Gamebryo's given us some wonderful games, but maybe it's time for a new engine. Ghost towns in areas that should be heavily populated are kinda lame.
VLCR Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 I wonder if Bethesda works upon a new engine :whistling:
Evil Lord Proteus Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Seconding this. I would love more life in Vegas.
