Texture Replacer Issue

Hello

Some of you may or may not be aware that I made a near complete retexture mod called Restoreout for Fallout 3

Well after looking into the bsa files of New Vegas I realised that Restoreout was compatable (Or so it SHOULD be)

So I put the textures folder into my data folder, went into the Fallout Launcher and checked "Load Loose Files" Just incase.

No change...

Why????

I figured I'd test my luck out in the geck to get a feel for it and to see the changes from Fallout 3 geck.

But to my surprise.... All the textures came up as Restoreouts!

Every single texture I added replaced all the vanilla ones just as they should.

I thought to myself "How could this be? If it doesn't work ingame"

So I looked ingame again and like before... just vanilla textures.

What am I doing wrong?

Someone somewhere must be able to help me =/

Here is the image of in the geck, as you can see the textures loaded just fine!

I'd just like to add,

that the meshes that my mod has were added to New Vegas also and they were accepted fine.

The cars are now restored models with... vanilla rusty textures (Not pretty)

So yeah, New vegas has accepted replacing models but just won't replace textures ingame =/

I really would get started on NV if it weren't for this damn issue.

I'd have this all uploaded and I'd be on my way =(

Stupid Valve,

Stupid Obsidian

Stupid New Vegas

Stupid Geck

Stupid Textures

Stupid Invalidation

... Or could be just stupid me? =P

I hope this can be figured out by someone somewhere =/

The only talk I've seen is a bat file that I can't get to work and changing the Fallout.ini and Fallout_default.ini just doesn't work.

Or maybe it does work and that wasn't the problem?

There's also a falloutprefs.ini file in the directory where fallout.ini is. I'm not sure if there has been anything agreed upon on which file is used, but I've been changing all 3 files. I believe the fallout_default.ini is used to generate the falloutprefs.ini, but again not 100% sure, so just edit all 3.

And the ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated!.bsa trick does work with FONV.

I have some great news and some bad news.

The bad news is.. My New Vegas NO longer uses the texture.bsa's and thus I've been forced to make backups of them just incase I screw up at any time.

The great news is... Restoreout is in New Vegas!

I've uploaded an image to imageshare to show.

The problem was that the texture.bsa's were in the way of my textures... So I extracted both bsa's into the data folder, moved the bsa's out of the data folder and added Restoreout to it.

Now the game loads with my textures!

YIPPY!

... But still... this is an issue that needs to be resolved. Archive Invalidation would seem to be the problem.
