Okay, so I am not the only one to experience the NPC Lag on Nvidia Cards. You know when look at an NPC's face and your framerate drops like a stone. So, I downloaded that dxd9.dll from FONV Nexus, and It solved that problem. But three new ones popped up. First the Graphical Quality is not what I would like it to be. I have turned everything up. Second, the Window border constantly flickers while I am playing. Third, when I go to change the settings in the Launcher menu, the graphics card that pops up is not the one I am using. My Card is a Nvidia GeForce 9700M GT. The Card that pops up is a GeForce 7900 GS. I have tried many different things to get it working and the Game plays fine. But, I would like to get these Naggly little issues out of the way so that I can better enjoy this AMAZING game. Any help Would be Appreciated. If I can grab Screenies of what I am talking aboot, Ill Put em up.

UPDATE: Demonstration video of Video problem I am Having. It's now starting to affect my gameplay.

It didn't fix anything for me either (I have a Radeon). What it did do was enable my 2nd GPU core but the game didn't play faster (neither core went past 50% usage while on a single core it goes up to the 90s). If anything, the dll made it a little less smooth. With the d3d9.dll added and without, the graphics quality was the exact same save a little perspective change and shadows being lighter with the d3d9. What I did was copy the altered sD3DDevice string from the newly generated FalloutPrefs.ini to my normal tweaked one, that way all other settings were exactly the same. Maybe try that on yours to see if your graphics quality remains the same.

Hello to all.

The dll fixed nothing for me either. I have a laptop and I have downloaded both the latest drivers for my video card (a NVidia GeForce 9600M GT) and the latest DirectX. My laptop is more than enough to play the game (at least that's what SystemRequirements says....) but to no avail. I have tried EVERYTHING and, still, the frame rate is as low as the ground.

By the way, I had no problems with Fallout 3. No problems at all and I don't get how is it possible to be in the minority for whom the .dll failed to work. Just my luck!

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I think anyone who has a video issue should go to the video card website and download the latest driver for their video card!!! Isn't that the first thing you should do?!

Okay, BobK90 my Drivers are up to date. Cancer explain what you did a little better. I think I go the gist of what you're saying, but want to be completely sure. And Overload,I maxed all my settings. My NPC lag is gone. But I am having a few new issues that popped up after I installed d3d9.dll Maybe you should read.. a little closer.
