Re-playing That Lucky Old Sun

I finally got to a great spot in my game recently, every faction I like likes me, I'm a few sidequests away from going to Render Unto Caesar, and I've equipped my followers with only the best. But something's missing, a weapon of mass destruction that will allow me to decimate my foes without a second thought.

I decided I'd try to go back to Helios One, reset the quest, and activate Archimedes so I can swing by and pick up Euclid's C Finder before I embark on any more adventures.

I got as far as initiating the reflector retargetting, but I can't use the switch outside to actually complete this objective, it seems it's permanently locked after my first run through.

Does anyone know how I can re-enable the control panel short of writing a mod? Maybe toggle it's status through some console command? I've tried disable/enable, and unlock. I've tried using setstage, but I don't have a firm grasp of how this command works, exactly.

And if you were wondering, I'm not planning on wiping out the NCR forces present.

Try the console command "resetquest <questid>" You can find the quest ids on something like the Fallout Wikia.

That's what I did, but it didn't reset the switch that is used to re-target the arrays, the step prior to speaking to the scientist guy or the idiot at the end of the quest.

I think I might be able to do this with the setstage command, but I don't know how it works, if I set the stage to 255, I get quest failed. If someone could explain how the stage values work, I might be able to work it out.

Or maybe bypass it with some way of setting a specific objective as complete?

Reseting the quest only resets the quest,it does not reset what you've done, the npcs you've killed or any of that on any quest. So you can't re-target it.

Also go to the wikia, find the stage you want to go to setstage [questid] [stageid] 255 is the default stage for quest failure.

I might be wrong but I think he did the quest before, but wanted to retry it.

resetquest, unfortunately, is of little value in new vegas and FO3, becuase there are multiple variables aside form the quest stage that govern what people say, and just resetting the quest usually doesn't allow them to say them again.

plus some of them are set to only be said once, regardless of variables.

Rebooting an old post here, but I am in the same predicament, went back to this quest later on in the game, "resetquest" from console and it was all fine except for this Reflector Control Panel. Went through looking for the correct variable to match this part of the quest objective ( set <"base id".variable> to <value> ), but there doesn't seem to be one.

Quest ID is 000e282d "That Lucky Old Sun"

I just created an account on here so i may share my excitement. I was having the same exact problem and i have found a solutution. I was unable to complete the quest by reseting but i found the console command to give you use of the finder. I found it on fallout wiki with a minor syn. error, and after a bit of tinkering i got it to work. here it is:

set e282d.nPowerConfiguration to 4

set e282d.bRetargetcomplete to 1

This will set the power config to archimedes and give you ammo for the finder.

Game on buddy
