DoctahFrank
As a first note:I'm not exactly sure if a mod is causing this or not, so I just put it in Technical Support. If it needs to be moved, please do so  Lately I've been getting a really weird bug/glitch related to mannequins. Whenever I am in a cell that has mannequins, the "You can only place Armor on the mannequin" message randomly shows up without me even being near the mannequin. The only mods (that I know of) that I have that influences mannequins is the Vanilla Mannequin Script Fix (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/10652/?). It's pretty annoying to have the messages randomly pop up in my face all the time, and I'm hoping someone can help me with it. If necessary, I can post my load order or mod list. IsharaMeradin
The mannequin script fix you referenced allows more than just armor to be equipped on the mannequin. That message should be suppressed as a result. Said script (main 2.2 version not the alternate version) does incorporate USKP fixes. Part of those fixes are to make sure the mannequin is stripped of gear and the gear re-equipped (part of eliminating armor duplication) when the cell is loaded. It just might be possible then that there is a breakdown in processing and when the weapons are being re-equipped, the message is appearing. It is just a theory and one not easily tested or corrected since each setup is different.
DoctahFrank
Hm. It happens not only to mannequins with armor / weapons equipped, but also without anything at all, including ones in cells I had never loaded in the current save... NexTextGorilla
This is beginning to appear for me as well. At first it was just when I entered my personal home mod that has two mannequins, but now it's happening when lieaving & when leaving whiterun via front gates. This started not long after installing Perkus Maximus. Don't know if there is any connection. It seems that my manequinn mod is to blame. I have tried moving it above certain other mods with no change. I have disabled the mod until I can figure out what the crack is the problem. Thus, problem, I'm hoping, temporarily solved. Too tired to mess with it anymore tonight. Yawn... Edited February 5, 2015 by NexTextGorilla
aba42
Did this issue ever get resolved? I JUST started getting this identical message too. No mannequins are equipped, but entering homes with mannequins triggers it, repeatedly, interrupting all other scripts until I exit that home (cell). I have deselected the past five mods I've added (over the past 6 months or so) but that changed nothing. These scripts just started appearing two days ago. Any solutions GREATLY appreciated!! IsharaMeradin
Here is a thought: Perhaps there is a mod that has a cloak ability which is adding something to "NPCs" for some reason. If that item is not armor or in the case of the linked mod by the OP a weapon, then that message will appear. So for example, lets say a mod has a cloak ability on the player which goes out and adds an apple to every NPC that is in a certain range. It will try to add apples to the mannequins and thus trigger the message. Downside is that some versions of the mannequin script dump whatever items can not be worn back to the player. If it is an item which is hidden (has no name) then the player inventory could get a bunch in their inventory which in turn could lead to other issues. freddark
This is an issue between female mannequins and the old FNIS Sexy Move, as Sexy Move put 'coins' into females. I don't know if the new version fixed this because I don't use it anymore.

AzXreal
Okay guys i can officially confirm that it is the fnis sexy move mod that causes this annoying message to appear. kinda sad really cause i like the mod but its not worth the annoying messages. took me quite a few hours searching google and messing around with my mods to figure this out. now that sexy move mod is uninstalled and deleted i no longer have that message popping up everytime i load a cell with modded mannequins
