Deleted1514008User
So, I've already posted about this over on the bethesda forums. Rather than reposting that entire thread, you can read it Here. Anyways, this board and that one are the most read boards around and since I'm truly tired of waiting on NVMM (And because FOMM annoys me in several ways, not the least of which is the annoyance involved in handling mods with it), I'm making my own, the New Vegas Community Mod Utility. After release, it will be purely open source and under one of the OSI licenses. I want it to be a community effort, so that everyone contributes and everyone can have features they need implemented. What do you all think? Anything you want from a new mod utility? Note: It's called a Mod Utility for two reasons. 1) It's meant to be a cross between a mod manager and a mod makers dream, sort of like Wrye Bash (Yeah Oblivion modding days)2) Because I wanted to separate it from FOMM or NVMM. BulletSix
hmmm bethesda gives me a 500-error, so i`m posting here: just some things that come to my mind: mod sorting ( i am speaking of the load order )game launcher and sorry if you don`t like FOMM, but i`d love to see TESSNIP again for NV ;) ... or is it possible to integrate it into NVCMU? another one: please make auto-updating optional per mod or in general
ladydesire
BulletSix: TESNip from FOMM works fine with FO:NV GECK esp's. I used it last night to convert something I was working on.
Tyz51
...You are a miracle, I have been programming for about four years, and I wouldn't even try this unless I had about a month or so to work on it. What programming language will this be done in?
c89c
TESsnip - no need to implement. I already do it natively. Just right click and edit. Reading the esp/esm at byte level is how i get my resource reports. The edit interface is more informative though. as to updating, while i'll check for updates, i'm not going to force you to auto update. It'll always be an option, however, i WILL check for updates. Just installing them is your choice. also, i like FOMM. Just it can be annoying to me. I hope they create NVMM. Choice is good for the community. as to programming language, it's VB 2010 with .NET 4 integration and custom C++ DLLs as needed. If FONV ever hits mac, i'll do an air or pure C++ version. but for now, VB is fine since it's windows only.

Khet
I love you. I like FOMM and was hoping for NVMM, but this just seems so much better. Good luck and hope to see this thing take off.

XxDemonxX
Good news! Release today! Well I see that the release has been postponed which by all means does not aggravate me but I wish to say that I would absolutely LOVE to see this up and running and would be very happy to see it coded in C++ because I am a mac user and I play fallout new vegas through wine and would LOVE to use this with it!
