pawzseven
When I first played F3, I hated it - the gore, the bleakness and being frightened to move anywhere once I got out of the Vault ( OK, so I am a wimp). New Vegas seems much friendlier to me - and maybe even easier, at least in the low levels. GoodSprings is a nicer place to hang out than Megatron - not quite so decrepit and with friendlier folk, and it was fun to have most of the town ( all of four people and a dog) uniting to deal with the Powder Gang. I also enjoyed getting rid of the geckos at my leisure, ( love the way they run) picking them off from a safe rock rather than having to fire in haste to protect my life. So,yeah, good'un. Look forward to some useful mods, but so far, so good. I have it installed on Windows Seven x64. not sure if the OS is that important since it comes through Steam. I have had it crash twice, one crash seemed to be related to a bug which made the Powder Gang guys just stand there instead of fight, and not get harmed by our weapons, the other just after I loaded. Otherwise - perfect, and one thing I delight in is that I have decent night skies in it, which I did not get in F3 for some reason - the rendering seemed to have no depth. Now I get stars and clouds looking like they should. I saw someone post that they felt the game was more linear than F3. I have not found that to be so yet - same ability to wander about and get into trouble as in F3, and follow the main plot when ready. I did feel a bit aimless after sorting out the immediate quests offered to me, not sure where exactly I needed to go in Primm - but who wants it all laid out for them? I am content to muddle around and see what happens next. Has a thumbs up from me.
ObLars
Indeed. New Vegas is a great game. Been running it for 20 hours or so now, and i must say its a delight. Its a little "brighter" than FO3, but at the same time pitch black. I love how i can find some random town, sit down with my scoped hunting rifle and just wait it out, in hopes for something to pop out and pull the trigger at. If i find myself in dire need of some fast caps, i just head down to the wrangler and play a game of black jack, ofc. You might lose, but i do have good luck. ;) I don't dare to walk a lot during day-light, cause lets face it - NV is a lot harder than FO3. I love it. I'v been playing hardcore mode since hour 1. And i LOVE IT! Keep up the good work Beth's.
