The missing laser pistol

Had anyone tried to help the quarter master in the B. of S. bunker (the vendor) find the laser pistol that she was looking for??I did and had allot of problems trying to do this quest,if u can call this a quest at all ,because u wont get a quest log for this.First the note that the quarter master gives you says that you have to talk with the paladin in charge of that firing practice room and here comes the first problem the damn paladin wont talk to you :wallbash: ,anyway after many tries he finally talked to me and tells you to find an initiate ,you talk to him and he tells you he lost his pistol in a fight with some radscorpions and here comes the second problem he only tells you it was near a big rock with a dead body near it but there are many big god damn rocks in the Mojave :wallbash: and thats all no map marker no nothing.After scouting the area near the bunker like crazy for 30-45 min i had lvled up killing some bark scorpions and i took the explorer perk and "lucky" me there was a place near the bunker ,but not that near to find it without help, called Scorpion...bla...bla..bla ,dont remember.I've went directly that way and i've found like 4-5 dead bodies near damn big rocks :wallbash: and also there was no laser pistol ,at least not in an easy place to see.So i've scouted the area for like 1 maybe for 2 hours until i finally found that small pistol.So i went to the bunker again, happy that i found the pistol, and i opened dialog with the initiate that lost the pistol and he ask me if i found it and guess what HE DOESN'T HAVE ANY DIALOG FOR FINISHING THE QUEST aaaaaaahhhhh WTF?Also the quartermaster doesn't have any dialog for it.So for those that had tried this quest pls tell is it a bug or what?

The quest works fine, here's what you do.

 

 

1) Speak to the Quater Master

2) Speak to the Paladin managing the firing range.

3) Speak to Initiate Stanton

4) Go out to Scorpion Gultch, there's a single corpse laying against a rock atop of which is the pistol.

5) After getting the pistol, go back and speak to the Quater Master, and give her the pistol when prompted.

 

If it's not working then my best guess is that you haven't got the right pistol.

If you look around that area there like 4 bodies,anyway this is not important,what is important is the fact that i'm pretty sure i got the right pistol, the name of the pistol is even "Missing Laser Pistol" and hell its even a quest item i cant drop it or sell it, but at least i realized why the pistol was so hard to find : i used grenade lauch. + some other explo. to kill the radscorp. :laugh: and probably the explosions threw the pistol away from the rock.

Hardly a spoiler given that the OP already explained the quest and thus asked for help to which I provided - No one forced you to look at the thread or continue reading the thread, so please avoid such comments.

If you have the right pistol and the Quatermaster won't take it from you then I think you may of encountered a bug, have you tried talking the quatermaster through and asking her about the situation again (if that's possible, do so). Else best I can suggest is do some other quests such as the BoS main quest (which will end up altering the quatermaster in a sense which should knock her out of the bug sequence so to speak). Just a thought.

Anybody experience a bug after you finished the missing laser pistol quest?. I returned to the brotherhood bunker and talked with the quartermaster she's asking me again if I found the laser pistol. I dont know how it happened and dont know how to fix it since I finished that quest. And I noticed that her inventory doesn't replenish even after I waited for a week.

Got the same problem here but I can trade with her. Even after giving her the gun and receiving the reward she keeps asking me for the laser pistol.

probly one of those stupid bugs that it works when it wants to or you have to do things in one exact order so one of the things you did must not have been in the order it wanted

I know this post is a few months old, but I decided NOT to make my own post. Problem is I HAVE the pistol, but I can't give it back to her. There are NO choices to do so. The pistol is clearly marked "Missing Laser Pistol". So I know I have the right one. So, is there a terminal code I could use to show the missing dialogue to finish this unmarked quest to get the thing done?
