Windageddon 2010

It's fricking crazy out here right now. Don't know if any of you all live in the good old Midwest...but we are getting smacked by one heck of a wind storm right now. 30-40mph sustained winds with 51mph gusts...whipped up to 60mph just a few minutes ago. I'm really surprised none of the trees around our building haven't snapped and hit the power lines  Supposed to last until tomorrow night. I'd hate to be a semi truck driver right now. Every single door in our building is rattling like crazy...sounds like gunshots out in the hallways  *sigh* gonna be a rough night...

lol this video...I'm surprised my local stations haven't done anything like this yet...come on if Chicago does it, why not Green Bay lol. If we did it here, it would probably be an animation of a nasty wind cloud or something blowing down Lambeau Field :P

Metallica!!! \m/

They did one in '08 too...Snowpocalypse :P Can't link the video for some reason....said I linked too many media files

Haha I was actually down in Chicago when the blizzard hit in '09...saw this newscast and almost died laughing. Haha, I hope they do it for this year if a good storm hits :P

LOL just reading an article on yahoo...guess Chicago got hit by a tornado! They calling it "Chiclone" and "Windpocalypse" lmfao

Crazy, they say the barometric pressure hasn't been this low in almost 10 years (978.0 mb). I remember the wind storm we had in 1998...that one was nuts...this is pretty comparable to it....

I got to leave school early because it was so bad out. Halfway home it was pretty much done though. Last time a big storm hit, my brother had a tree fall on his car while he was going 50 mph. Lucky right?

haha Canada...you guys bring us some nasty weather :P Alberta Clippers are evil :P

woah....

Meteorologists know this will be intense due to expected lowest central pressure of the low in western Ontario bottoming out in the neighborhood of 955-960 mb.

This is a storm stronger than the infamous "Edmund Fitzgerald" storm in Nov. 1975 and an even stronger version almost exactly 23 years after that in Nov. 1998.

Its central pressure is also on par with the infamous Superstorm of 1993, and is lower than the last 4 hurricanes of the 2010 Atlantic hurricane season.

wow...lower pressure than the last 4 hurricanes...that's just nuts!

Woah...never had a tree fall on the car >.< That would suck so bad. Our poor little Honda Fit gets blown around pretty bad in these winds though. No trees have snapped yet so far...but the worst of the winds is over for today. Tomorrow afternoon is supposed to be worse :(

Haha...wow...nearly all of Green Bay has no power right now...living in a valley must be saving our butts

Yes they are EVIL, we live right in the middle of tornado ally and we had some nasty weather come through our parts of town, Hail winds you name it.

But its very rare that one would come through a city area like ours. Its never used to be a part of Tornado ally but it is now.

Blames global warming

Branch just snapped off of one of the trees! Woah crap....man...I don't want to not have power :( Trees are right by the power lines that go to our building :(

Ah well, if no power, I'll actually have to read something :P Or maybe take a nap :P

Wow....nice image. Hovering right over Minnesota, that poor state got quite the bulk of it. They were saying the barometric pressure was equivalent to a Cat. 3 hurricane...just crazy. Winds have calmed down quite a lot now, still pretty breezy, but the worst is over. Was pretty nuts yesterday too...but no power outages or severe damage here :) Racine and Kenosha (cities down by the border of Illinois) got tornadoes  Up in the Northwoods...sheesh...dang near all the people there had no power :( We just had a few trashbins and little branches in the road :P Oshkosh lol swear it has some magic barrier around it. There have been many nights I'm watching the radar and this crazy storm is coming. Always....within 10 miles of it being here it falls apart into nothing :P

Windageddon is over :P Prolly get a Snowpocalypse now...I'm guessing around January we'll have a good 4-6 feet dumped on us :P Already getting pretty cold...-20 below freezing isn't far away

Weather is crazy and so interesting...
