Request for a sword mod

Okay so I downloaded and experimented with YaSuS sword mod, which was nice enough.

 

But I would love to see one that implements two-handed swords with a bit better skin detail and a little bit more glitter/bling, the swords look a tad too bland in YaSuS mod, even tho its a good mod.

 

Also, I'd like to see them do damage appropriate for endgame.

 

So, in a nutshell: A mod for a detailed non-burnished claymore -style two-handed sword, thank you :)

 

With a possible skin variations added, like blackened steel etc. Oh, and also the strength requirements need a recheck, having strength requirement of 4 for a knights broadsword doesnt really feel appropriate. The twohander shoould come with a strength requirement of 7 or 8, I feel.

 

Let me elaborate: A two-handed sword that requires strength of 7 and does damage on par with the super sledge, maybe a bit less damage and a bit more dps, with a detailed and unburnished skin with preferably a selection of different skins. F.e I like the elven sword and silver claymore as well as the black ones (especially the one in umbra mod) from Elder Scrolls: Oblivion.

 

Shouldnt be too hard to make this? I wonder if the meshes and skins from Oblivion could be used here...? Would make it quite simple, yes?

Like how hard a job this would be, guess I'll have to try my own hand in it if no ones going to come forward...

 

Is it even possible to get the models (meshes/skins) from Oblivion ported to NV? My modding has been really limited as you can tell...

Way I see it, the biggest problem are the animations. FO3 and NV don't actually have 2h sword animations, they only have polearm/staff animations as far as I can tell. I.e., unless someone made a 2h sword animation, it would have to have a pretty long handle.

 

I'm not familiar with that mod by name, though, and a quick search came up empty, so no idea how that one solved it. Maybe providing a link would help?

 

That said, if you just want something non-rusty, you may have relatively few choices. I'm one of the few people who makes non-rusty, non-dented stuff, and I'm constantly getting complaints about that. It seems to be a rather niche taste, from what I can tell. The consensus seems to be that in the Fallout world everything needs to look like it got run over by a tank and then spent the last 200 years in the sea.

 

That said, if you don't mind it being a chinese weapon (which they actually still used blades in the 50's, and the game is, you know, set in a sort of 50's after a Chinese invasion), there are a couple of mods around which add a dadao or zhanmadao or guandao. Mine looks like this for the 2hander:

dumbly enough, it would actually be big enough a handle to be used two-handed... if the game actually had the 2h sword animations from Oblivion.

 

@dr3amcatcher: you may need to stripify the mesh in NifSkope if importing from Oblivion. No idea if that's still needed, actually, I stuck with that recommendation since ye olde FO3 days.
