LadySimone
Skyrimpref.ini isn't coming back after I delete it and reopen Skyrim. So it's impossible for me to copy that to a Mod Organizer folder. Let alone...I don't even have that Mod folder so this isn't working for me.
Moriachik
I realise that I'm extremely late to the party, but I want to chip in with a possible solution. I tried running Skyrim and was having this issue, I wanted to rip my hair out because nothing I found online fixed the issue. Then one day I started messing with my antivirus (BitDefender) and turned off something called "Safe Files", which might be different for you. Basically it was making it so that no programs were able to make any changes to files on my computer, so the launcher was unable to change its own settings.  I turned that off and it works with zero problems.  Might be worth a shot to check into your antivirus settings/ UAC if nothing else is working. auvlen
also try searching for various "INI Tweaker's" on the nexus. Many programs now exist that can not only fix this but give you even more than the default game settings can. I have alot of obscure TVs and monitors with wierd resolutions that require me to use this for skyrim or everything just looks like minecraft... LordGlynn
Thank you very much for the fix!! Also, I seem to be having the same issue with Fallout4 script extender. Can this method be used for solving Fallout 4 too? I will test this and see.
