Starting a quest from a script

I have a quick (maybe) question. I'm trying to attach a quest starting script to an NPC and have that particular NPC fill a certain alias once that quest is begun. Does anyone know of a way to do this? Maybe it should be obvious, but I'm missing it. If that is impossible, is there a way to reliably transfer an alias in one quest to a specific alias in another? Thanks.

I should have been more specific. The problem is that I have a script to determine whether a certain condition is met. The script was to be either attached to all actors that were not unique or yadda yadda. If the condition is met, the script will randomly choose a quest from a formlist of quests. This was not the issue; it was actually pretty easy. The problem is that I need any actor to which the script is attached to be able to fill the alias, and I need only that actor to which the script is attached and has met the criterion for starting the quest to fill the alias. Maybe now you see the problem with assigning the specific actor to the alias. However, I think I've found a better way to do this. I'll set up a quest that will dynamically fill aliases and clear them as needed. Essentially, this quest will control the distribution of quests. I think I can work out a way to fill the alias of the random quest with an alias from the controlling quest...I think.

Okay, I wrote all that before I saw your link. That might actually work. I'll give it a shot. Thanks.
