ObLars
Hey. Im pretty new to this whole Dialogue thing, and i want my newly created npc's to use vanilla voices, and dialogues. Not my recordings, and custom topics. Anyone got a tutorial, or some friendly advice? :P
Lingwei
If the NPCs you make are added to certain factions then they will use the automatic dialogue from that faction. E.g if you make the NPC from the NCR faction they will use the same lines as the generic NCR soldiers. Generic dialogue is stored in quests so you can read through the dialogue there to see what sort of things they can say. What sort of dialogue were you after exactly? ObLars
Sweeet :) Well, i made a retired NCR Officer, So generic NCR things would be awesome to use :) It just feels very dumb to speak with my NPC without speech sound. (As i dont like recording myself). Sidenote though, wouldnt giving him the NCR faction make him friendly to the NCR faction and all its actors? Its not a problem, i just want my NPC to be enemy with all my enemies. :)
ObLars
Also. I was looking for random gibberish. To make him seem more lifelike. :) Im going to make him a companion soon - And i'd love to use Vanilla Companion Topic's. WITH vanilla speech. Is this possible? Maybe copy boones dialogue? I really dont know how dialogue works :(
Lingwei
If you add your npc as a condition on all of the vanilla dialogue that you would like him to have (via a getisid condition) then you conceivably get him to say anything so long as he has the correct voice type. So you would need to set his voice type to MaleUniqueCraigBoone, then go through all of Boone's dialogue and change the conditions to include the getisid condition (don't forget to change them to OR rather than AND). Don't see what the point of doing that is though, if you are just planning on using all of Boone's dialogue then you may as well just use Boone.
