sullyvanj93
no idea if this is remotely possible, but I was thinking today how great it would be to have a more detailed and specific hardcore mode to make the game immersion and difficulty that much more intense. My hopes was to have much more sliders than what the hardcore mode offered, and was curious if it was at all possible to edit those found in game already (hunger, sleep, thirst) and if it was also possible to add more! by the time I am done, I am hoping to have the following sliders: Sleep Deprivation (same as base game, you need to sleep, or your brain shuts down.)Fatigue (new, only increases when moving, depending on weight and speed. to decrease slider, simply slow down and relax. sitting decreases quite rapidly, as does waiting.)Dehydration (same as base game, you need to drink water, juice, milk, some kind of liquid to restore your body's hydration status. booze and soda not a good choice.)Starvation - Protein (Expanded from base game, you need meat/beans/soy/etc to maintain healthy strength and cell mitosis)Starvation - Carbohydrates (Expanded from base game, you need starch/sugar/etc to keep energy up)Starvation - Vitamins & Minerals (Expanded from base game, you need Fruits/Veggies/multivitamins/etc to keep your nutrition up)Starvation - Electrolytes (Expanded from base game, you need Fruits/juices/etc to keep your body functioning properly)Hygiene (new, not as devastating of penalties as other sliders, but without showers/baths/handwashing/etc, you will notice a drop it charisma and luck)Elimination (new, best to find a toilet if you can. Obviously, it's the wasteland, and when nature calls, you answer, but alas, if you are witnessed, be prepared to suffer social penalties)Social (new, whether its a companion, a townsman, or a volleyball with a hand print on it, we all need someone to talk to. without it, you'll see a drop in intelligence and charisma) So i guess, again, my main question is: is it possible to implement these? or is it about as impossible as adding new skills? Danny159
For the "elimination" thing, if you use a normal toilet or urinal there shouldn't be a penalty if they spot you. Or you gain leverage when talking to that NPC? ^^Maybe there could be a penalty if you walk into the wrong a bathroom? (male Courier into the women's bathroom and female Courier into the men's bathroom) XD Edited February 3, 2015 by Danny159
sullyvanj93
Yeah, I was definitely thinking only if they caught you relieving yourself where it might be socially unacceptable. Outside, corner of a building, etc. You want to set yourself apart from the freeside junkies, right? hahaha penalties for walking into the wrong bathroom (if caught) may be hard to do every single one in the game, but I sure like the idea :)
danbngo
Have you looked at Imps More Complex Primary Needs? It has a nutrition system, though no pooping / peeing.
sullyvanj93
That is an outstanding mod! never saw that before! However, I am seeing a looooot of people complaining of glitches and issues in the posts, and the Mod Author doesn't seem to be updating since 2010 and is not able to receive PMs haha. Even so, I will try getting in contact with him. Thanks Danbngo
Ladez
You want to go to the bathroom in a video game? Different strokes and all, but... man that seems tedious. Anyways, look at my answer to the question here.

Ladez
Yeah... I kind of figured that. I'd tell you why it's the very antithesis of being immersive, but in the interest of staying on topic I have provided--and will continue to provide--help in this matter, even if I think it's silly. sullyvanj93
very nice explanation Ladez, thanks. And honestly, it may seem tedious, but it is part of survival. I like the survival aspects of the game. Finding a constant supply of food, water, a bed that you can use, or at least somewhere safe to rest. I think that it could be enhanced to include other aspects, potentially including finding somewhere to go to the bathroom. in that aspect, I don't think it's an antithesis at all. But that could just be me and my OCD-logic brain wondering why there are so many toilets in the game with no use for them other than to drink the water! hahahaha
