Guest deleted2159825
*Spoilers Ahead* All, I enjoyed the first playthrough with the NCR, but I found myself dissatisfied with the lack of formal acceptance and/or rank within the faction. Specifically, I wanted to play as a ranger (as the cover would suggest!), not just nab some armor off a corpse and fake it. Besides, if you've already wiped out Mr. House, the BoS, and saved the president, it's fair to say you're committed to the NCR as a faction. It's annoying to be referred to as a "civilian" after such events. Enough whining, I'll get to the point: I want to request a mod that enables players who've completed most of the "For the Republic" questline to formally join the rangers and undertake ranger-specific quests (like killing slavers, which is always enjoyable), and be issued their own set of ranger armor. It could also add a perk that opens unique dialogue options(intimidation and what not). I'm certain that plenty of other players share my sentiment on this matter, and any mods to accomodate it would be greatly appreciated. I'm currently whipping together a bounty hunter mod (an rough adaptation of an Oblivion mod I made), but afterwards I'll be willing to help with such a project. If anyone has ideas or suggestions, post them! Thanks for considering the idea.

Guest deleted2159825
I'm about 1/3 through my current mod, but it should be done by next week, and then I'll pursue this idea. I'm open to any and all suggestions. I'm aiming to create a straightforward questline in which you'll prove your mettle, take an oath, get issued armor, etc., and then tackle a handful of ranger-specific quests (which could be expanded on later). In truth, one of the reasons I was so persistant in the NCR questline (even though I hated to demolish the BoS bunker) was so I could get that goddamn armor and roleplay as a ranger. I've only skimmed the backstory on the NCR Rangers, so if any of you Fallout veterans can give me some additional insight into the Ranger's doctrine I'd appreciate it. I've gathered that in earlier games the primary qualification was a hatred for slavery and slavers, with absolutely no leniancy on the issue. There's always a chance that DLC could address this, but I'm betting against it. Anyway, I'll keep brainstorming - if you've got ideas, post away! devilbound
Great, sounds good, very good! Kudos(given)! Weird... I've done a LOT of NCR quests but didnt get one to stom BoS bunker... Altho, I did it out of my own volition. They just rubbed me the wrong way... "Okay, remove all your armor and weapons so we can talk. Now" Yes sir, right away sir! Pfffft, yea right... That kind of talk just warrants my supersledge in to yer chin... For some reason NCR has so far ended up as the only major faction I havent destroyed, actually I am idolized by them. Which is weird, since they, too, annoy me a lot. Maybe it's at least because they try and don't try to enslave people or condescend on you like the Legion or Mr. House, respectively. Anyways, I'll try n keep up with you on this in case I get inspiration for missions or what have ye. Also if you want to like to try n do a thorough job I can do some voiceacting or some other such, that is if you would like to do a proper project. I think that would be schweet, we're yet to been blessed by a true quest by the modding community for FNV. Oh. Can you include an NPC called Chuck (or) Norris with them? Like a proper lone wolf ranger or something (and of course he should be imba op, hehehe) :D

References to Lonesome Dove would be in order as well. Thanks for the kudos!
