WindDude
Hi guys. Here's my problem: I launch OBMM, click Create, then click Add Archive, then the file browser opens up and bam, "OblivionModManager has stopped working." Which is weird because it worked liked a charm only a few days ago. I've uninstalled OBMM, installed it again, completely uninstalled Oblivion and reinstalled it, still doesn't work. Other programs that use file browsers still work, OBMM in particular doesn't. I'm using Windows 7 64 bit. There always seems to be something wrong when I mod Oblivion. :P
lobo1010
try to run it as adminother thing i noticed is that this happens more frequently when you are runing a lot of mods (im running 244 mods + bashed patch) so try a manual install or move some of your mods to a temp folder (just the esps) then create your new omod and finally move back the other modspersonally i do that only when i need to create a big omod (600mb +) or to uncompress it becouse sometimes it happens after 60% in my machineif it doesnt work just post again and i will try to find another solution
MorpheusDruidic
Hi guys. There always seems to be something wrong when I mod Oblivion. :P 1.U could be trying to click on the manager's window while it is creating the OMOD. When i create OMOD's, the top of OBMM's window bar shows as "not responding" just let it do what its doing and dont click on the window. If your click on the window of a program that Win7 deems isnt responding (but its actually processing) it will crash and start "checking for solutions". I use Win7 64bit as well. 2.This probably isnt the case but u also might be low on ram. If your using VERY HIGH compression methods you need at least 2GB ram FREE. That doesnt mean u have 2GB RAM in you pc..but that u have 2GB "available". My system uses 1.5GB of Ram just being turned "ON". I have 4GB which means i have 2.5GB Free. Make sure u have the neccessary amount of RAM free or turn the compression down.
WindDude
Winter break time, woot. Sorry for bumping this topic, but... try to run it as adminother thing i noticed is that this happens more frequently when you are runing a lot of mods (im running 244 mods + bashed patch) so try a manual install or move some of your mods to a temp folder (just the esps) then create your new omod and finally move back the other modspersonally i do that only when i need to create a big omod (600mb +) or to uncompress it becouse sometimes it happens after 60% in my machineif it doesnt work just post again and i will try to find another solution  Nope, running as admin doesn't change anything, (I have the game installed outside of the C drive anyway so I shouldn't have to run as admin, I think) and this is even with a fresh install without any mods active, so it can't be that either. I think I found another program where a file browser doesn't work. If I try to add exceptions to my Norton firewall it just crashes, so I'm thinking this is a problem that doesn't have anything to do with OBMM. Although in Norton's case, I don't get a message about it and I don't even see the file browser open like in OBMM. I suppose this isn't a big deal at the end of the day, as I don't need OMODs for most mods (though it'd be nice for installing Bananasplit's Better Cities...) and I have other means of managing firewall exceptions but... if anybody has any advice short of completely reinstalling my OS, I'm all ears. Specs:Processor: Intel® Core i5 CPU 750 @ 2.67GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.7GHz Memory: 8192MB RAM Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 470 OS: Windows 7 Home Premium Yeah this is a recent build. Kyuukei
I had a similar problem before. At one point I had to reinstall the game from a backup, and so OBMM ended up with a dead shortcut that still tried to autorun my OMODs. If there is in fact a more sweeping problem at work, this probably won't help at all, but here's what worked for me: When you download or create an OMOD and it invariably doesn't work, simply rightclick and hit 'Open With.' In my case, there were two instances of OBMM in the menu that came up, and I had to use the first one. Fairly simple, really. If that actually works for you then the correct shortcut *should* be set as the default one from now on. Hopefully that does it.
