Texture problems

now thats weird. haven't been playing for a while but after loading my latest save today, the hair textures on my char started to flicker (black spots). hair of npc's are completely messed up. they don't just flicker, but also have a weird green color which frequently replaces the normal hair (i think it depends on the angle I'm looking at them).

I've tried bringing up the ingame race menu and as soon as I change the age, complexity or the whole race of my current char, the face textures disappear and only eyeballs and teeth remain. this also happens when I start a new game.

I've already reinstalled the cute elves race, exnem body and skinpack, natural faces. but it didn't help. I think there might be a conflict with some vanilla files or something. does anyone know what might be causing this in the first place? what files am I missing?

some pictures:

she is supposed to have blonde hair. instead it's just flickering.

Are you using BOSS? Have you got Wrye Bash set to automatically use BOSS suggestions? For instance, for CuteElf11.esp your Bashed Patch needs: {{BASH:NpcFaces,Hair,Eyes,Graphics}} Also, rebuild you Bashed Patch EVERY TIME that you add/remove/edit mods. The name of the game is BOSS..BASH, every time.

as far as I know, this mod only fixes the start area when the king is supposed to show up. I'm now pretty far into the game. I can't even remember changing anything that might cause all this.

this face bug on my last pic is somewhat common I believe. any idea what might be missing here?

oh yes, I'd never add or remove anything without running boss and rebuilding my bashed patch accordingly.

Well, there's plainly missing textures, maybe even meshes going by your last picture. My question remains: have you got Wrye Bash set to automatically use BOSS suggestions? And have you checked that CuteElf11.esp has those settings?

yes sorry, I've kinda missed that part from your post. I checked and everything seems as usual. cute elves has the following tags: {{BASH:NpcFaces,Hair,Eyes,Graphics}}

I get no errors, no nothing.

maybe some more pics may help identify my problem:

it seems like there is the same hair model underneath. can you see that they are a little displaced?

when I zoom in, so that my char becomes invisible, only this one static(?) hair model remains. it's kinda floating in the air, even if I move. this never happend before.

if I decapitate someone (deadly reflex), then his eyeballs and teeth will remain where his head is supposed to be. either there is really something missing or I somehow managed to get way too much.

I have never used Deadly Reflex, and I can honestly say that I have never seen anything like that before. When you load this save file, do you get a warning that it relies on content that is no longer there?

well, yes because I removed realistic water HD. this mod made my game very laggy but it only affects water I guess (btw. I've deleted it after this things started to happen). no matter which save I load now, I get the same weird results. I deleted "cobl races tnr" and es expected the npc's reverted back to their vanilla uglyness. this flickering/green hair color still persists. maybe something went wrong with obmm's bsa redirection method..

Try this: quit the game completely...to the desktop. Do not only quit to the main menu..IMPORTANT!

Restart Oblivion and start a new game. Are your races and characters ok in the chargen screen?
