Frostrune
Short Description: Skyrim goes "Not Responding" during the initial load to the main menu and after the normal loading screens. After this, however, it miraculously starts up again almost every time allowing me to play the game flawlessly until the next loading screen._____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Long Description: I recently started modding my skyrim again after having not played for quite some time. I started with getting SKSE and SkyUI since a lot of mods requires these to function. This, however, caused my skyrim to get minute-long load times. I have a pretty good computer, 980 G1 Gaming, quad-core i7, 8gb RAM, the whole schebang. I initially installed the beta version of SKSE with the installer, and since it's around this time the issues started, I'm suspecting SKSE to partially be the culprit. I don't think I had the issue until this part, and I didn't do enough testing before moving on to install more mods. I still believe the issue lies with either SKSE or Skyrim itsef, since even when disabling all ESP's, the problem persists. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling SKSE multiple times, with all the available versions._____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The issue in a nutshell: Whenever I start skyrim via SKSE_loader.exe skyrim starts but immediately doesn't respond. It is stuck like this for quite some time (up towards 5 minutes), with my cursor being stuck in the 'loading' animation. When this time has passed, however, the game starts fine, and runs well in the start menu. However, when selecting 'continue' the game goes to a loading screen. It loads for a while (a short while, like my usual loading times), and then freezes in a "not responding" state. This once again takes a looooong time, but once the game starts back up after this it runs flawlessly... until the next load screen, upon which the same procedure is repeated.Sometimes the game doesn't start up, however, and stays in the "not responding" state. I then have to close the program and re-run it. Disabling esp's doesn't make the mod disappear. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Computer Specs: Windows 8.1 64 bitNvidia 980 Gigabyte G1 GamingIntel Core i7 960 @ 3.20 GHz8 gb RAM Running a multi-screen setup, but I don't think this impacts this problem. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Mods/Load Order: Skyrim.esmUpdate.esmUnofficial Skyrim Patch.espDawnguard.esmHearthFires.esmUnofficial Heathfire Patch.espDragonborn.esmUnofficial Dragonborn Patch.espRSkyrimChildren.esmSkyTEST-RealisticAnimals&Predators.esmNock2Tip.esmHighResTexturePack01.espHighResTexturePack02.espHighResTexturePack03.espBrows.espBioLens.espBVFE_Serana.espBlackout_Dawnguard.espBeards.espThieves Guild Requirements.espDangerous Wolves.espDragonBoneEbonsteel.espSkysan_Icicle.espEpisodeParallax.espdD - Realistic Ragdoll Force - Realistic.espORM-Arvak.espDeadlyDragons.espHothtrooper44_armor_Ecksstra.espRaceMenuPlugin.espChesko_WearableLantern.espEnhancedLightsandFX.espELFX - Exteriors.espBarenziahQuestMarkers.espWhen Vampires Attack.espJKs Skyrim.espiWil_UselessShopOverhaul.espethereal_elven_overhaul.espELFXEnhancer.espBirds.espSkyFalls + SkyMills + DG + DB.espRealisticWaterTwo.espNobleWeddingDressByUrshi.espRevampedExteriorFog.espdD - Enhanced Blood Main.espdD-Dragonborn-Dawnguard-EBT Patch.espSeranaDialogEdit.espRaceMenu.espRSChildren - Complete.espRSChildren_PatchUSKP.espSoS - The Wilds.espBirdsofskyrim.espSMIM-DungeonsCliffsIceSkirts.espSkyUI.espSMIM-FurnitureChestSnowFix.espSoS - Civilization.espSoS - The Dungeons.espskyBirds - Airborne Perching Birds.esp83Willows_101BUGS_V4_HighRes.espCornerofTheSkyrim.espHothtrooper44_ArmorCompilation.espBlackout_Skyrim.espaMidanborn_Skyforge_Weapons.espskyforgedShields.espskyforgedWeapons.espBellyachesNewDragonSpieces.espRealisticWaterTwo - Legendary.espSFO - Dragonborn.espRun For Your Lives.espSMIM-FarmhouseFlickeringFix.espUFO - Ultimate Follower Overhaul.espBijin Warmaidens.espSMIM-ShackRoofFixes.espImmersive Patrols II.espMore INteresting Loot for Skyrim.espSMIM-ShackRoofFixesDragonborn.espNock2Tip.espKK_Lola_comanion_wolfdog.espSkyrim Flora Overhaul.espVerdant - A Skyrim Grass Plugin.espGuardedBorders.espPrometheus_BeastSkeletons.espHunterborn.espHFMerchant.espSC_NobleDresses.espSneak Tools.espSneak Tools Vanilla Hoods.espSneak Tools Vanilla Masks.espgarm_black.espTheEyesofBeauty.espAlternate Start - Live another Life I use SKSE, NMM, the Borderless Winowed ini whatever, Texture Pack Combiner and K ENB. They're small, around 5 000 kb. Applied memory fix in SKSE.ini Spin around 3 times and spit on the dog. Channel Brodin through my loins. Playing the game without getting bothered by insane load times. M48A5
With everything else you have tried, have you tried using only one monitor?
Frostrune
With everything else you have tried, have you tried using only one monitor?Yes. That's how I usually play the game. Thank you though. I need any suggestions I can get. Some people have pointed out that it might be "normal" for it to have long time, seeing as I run a decent amount of mods. This, however, isn't it. On my rig, no load time should run longer than ~20 seconds, and since it loads for minutes in the "not responding" state it simply cannot be correct. I believe that the real load times are about 7 seconds, since this is the time that the screen is animated (ie. the models are spinning and whatever). Then the game freezes for minutes, and that is not loading in disguise.
Frostrune
Hoooboy. Okay. It kinda solved itself. I told you that I had tried using only one monitor. Yeah. Well, I guess I'm a bit lazy, because I had only shut off the TV, not turned the actual screen off. This solved the problem, and I hope this will be of help to anyone else experiencing this issue. If only I could use both monitors simultaniously... I really find it convenient.
aleche96
**Solution for me :: OneTweak got moved to the bottom of my Mod Organizer list (overwrites-all); Essentially like a Re-Install (nmm). I sincerely hope this helps someone. Didn't restart my comp or anything. **Edit :: Must close task manager; do not have task manager open -> fixed: windowed w/ OneTweak enabled. TheJatin
You turned off the TV like switching the HDMI ? I appear to have the exact same problem and I'm still looking for a solution
