Robert's Male Body isn't working right, every races texture is

blurry.

I'm trying to install Robert's Male Body V5 Beta, but every time I try it doesn't install correctly. The meshes install right, but the textures end up blurry and non-detailed. I've tried the OMOD version, I've tried the manual, each several times. I've tried installing the mods after a fresh install of Oblivion, with no trace of it on the computer beforehand. Not the ini, Wyre Bash, etc.

Whenever I delete the meshes, though, and use the vanilla meshes, the the textures become clear and detailed in-game. So it's like the vanilla game with the vanilla brown Tarzan underwear with V5's great textures. I've installed the plugin, checked it on the mod list, tried many different forms of ArchiveInvallidation, changed the meshes, nothing seems to work.

Please help.

Try setting your texture option to 'Large' in-game -- Options .> Video -> Texture Size. You will have to restart the game.

It is, and has been unfortunately. :(

As I said before, the problem corrects itself when I switch back to the normal game's meshes. Also, I DO have the latest Oblivion patch.

EXAMPLE:

With Robert's meshes:

With default meshes (this shirt uses the default upperbody meshes, the same thing happens if I actually delete Robert's meshes and use the default ones):

I don't know why I'm not getting that level of detail when I use Robert's meshes, the ones that they were made for.

Did you create a Bashed Patch, and is MaleBodyReplacerv4.esp checked in 'Merge Patches' and 'Race Records'?

I have the same problem weirdly, after installing the new High Rez textures, Breezes vascular normal maps don't work well ether ( tried them a while back ) though I install it correctly I get what I can only describe as a blurry pixilated look - see pic

How do I make a bashed patch?

The vascular normal maps are a replacement for Robert's, and so are the new hi-rez textures -- you have to choose one or the other. For a Bashed Patch, you have to learn how to install and use Wrye Bash. It may look daunting at first, but perseverence will give you one of the most important tools in the Oblivion utilities library.

Sorry I confused you, I tried the vascular normalmaps ages back then got rid of them for the same reason as what I've got now. I've got the hi rez ones installed and getting what you see in the screenie.

I've got Wyre Bash installed already and are familar with some functions of it, I just don't know how to make a patch with it.

Yes, as Smooth613 suggests, the only way to REALLY get to know how to create a Bashed Patch, and other functions of Wrye Bash is to read the documentation -- read it over and over, if needs be; it can be a bit daunting at first, but perseverence reaps it's rewards in the long run.
