kj28lfc
I actually managed to get into the huge empty area of FNV, on PS3. I hope its DLC i hate it when they leave all that space unused. I hate it even more when DLC is crap and short, but this is Fallout after all, nothing about Fallout is small.
Foeofthelance
Well, its either going to be DLC or a modder's playground. I admit that the idea that the vast empty lands are intended to host DLCs is the thing that makes me wary of mods saying, "I opened up the X and put my mod in the big blank zone!" I don't want to see either good money or good mods get crushed together, when I want both!

Of course one way of looking at it is Bethesda has sold us a half empty box, and they will sell us the rest when they think they have got as much money as they can? The problem is that the another 30%/40% of the game,{which is already finished},it will not be part of one dlc, probably 3,4,5,etc dlc...;)..."how much u said u paid for this mod?" gsmanners
Yet another way to look at it is that they sold us a truck with some iffy tires. Don't worry about it, because they can just replace them for no cost. Oh, and you might want to buy some extras like a tow attachment or maybe an extra fuel tank. Inathero
shrugs. all i'm saying is that they left a huge part of the map unused sure it might be used for dlc but really, i doubt it. the map is actually larger than what is shown in the pipboy, so are you saying the parts not shown in the pipboy (beyond the map barrier) will be used for dlc? highly unlikely Like what deltadeath93 said about the northern passage, I agree fully that it is highly likely to be a dlc spot but by tlc'ing to enter that huge part of the map, its just as flat as a table and has semi-low res repeated floor textures - just as if you went beyond the map's border boundaries in fallout. A perfectly reasonable, glass half full response Gsmanners. I was merely offering a veiwpoint. And Inathero, I crossed the area on the pipboy map going south west until I came to the edge of the mesh. Its not flat down there, the mountains and valleys continue (without invisible barriers.)On one other machine I had a .dem file for Ca/Nv imported to Bryce and on my internet machine I had Google earth. I wanted to work out how they had crushed down the actual geographic data file to make the map (which proved futile) but they have left most of the basic geography in place. However if the blank area on the pipboy map is for dlc's that still leaves a huge area 'off' the pip boy map. the problem with developing it is, it can take your character 10 or 15 dull minutes to get there. After half an hour of running along the south edge of the mesh trying to work out where I'd be in the real world, I jumped back 'onto' the map with a fast travel, so that works down there. WizardOfAtlantis
Blank areas aren't even far away. All you have to do is go over the hills right behind Doc Mitchell's house. It's a stone's throw from Goodsprings...
huntsman2310
i'm guessing the extra map room would be for dlc, cause it would be pointless for the dev team to add all that map space and not do something with it plus dlc would make sense because its said that the area beyond mohave outpost is NCR territory, and all that would be needed for the ground textures is to clean em up a bit and change them around if neccesary
CarlCorey
FWIW, I tcl-ed through the gate at Mojave Outpost and walked southwest for a long time and ended up here:http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm40/carlcorey2003/ScreenShot0.jpg
