Needing some texturing assistance on my M1C project

Hi all,

I've been modifying the default "This Machine" into a M1C Garand sniper rifle, and I'm needing some help texturing it. The default texture for the rifle is a paltry 256x256 pixels, which translates to a very low-res appearance in game, and I need help creating a larger high-res texture for it, and mapping that texture to the mesh I'm working on.

Thanks for the advice... looks like I've discovered a bug in Blender - when importing .NIFs, it doesn't recognize the 1stperson/word texture difference. It completely erased all this data when I imported the mesh.

 

Regardless, I could still use some help making textures for the M84 scope, as I'm no expert on these things
