archiveinvalidation.txt

Alright, so... I want to get a body replacer working but and I have been raging for an hour now trying to find a fix.

So, I get it installed. I try to archive invalidate through the NV FOMM. For some reason, that's all f***-up-y. So I try downloading the NV AI - Invalidated. I try to run that. It says I cant run it because I need to update my NET-something to 4.019001 or something like that (making up the numbers, I dont remember what it was). So, I say f*** that, lets try using the FO3 AI - invalidated, I know that works. Well, it works, but inst compatible as the automatic. So I try to manual install. I f*** up my falloutprefs.ini, and have to reinstall, but when I reinstall, its still broken, and I learn that the quick fix is to delete it. Finally now, I try to do the archaic method of making an archiveinvalidation.txt. Finally that works, but now there's a new f***ing problem: The hands and head is pink with missing texture. How do I make that use the default textures? With the .txt. I'm fine with the extra work, I just want to make it work....

Probably overkill, but to get invalidation to work with NV FOMM I changed a couple lines in these files:

Fallout_default.ini - the one in program files

Fallout.ini - the one under My Documents

FalloutPrefs.ini - the one under my documents:

I changed these lines under the [Archive] heading to be exactly like this:

SInvalidationFile=

SArchiveList=ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated!.bsa, Fallout - Textures.bsa, Fallout - Textures2.bsa, Fallout - Meshes.bsa, Fallout - Voices1.bsa, Fallout - Sound.bsa, Fallout - Misc.bsa

And don't forget to delete the archiveinvalidation.txt file.

you know there is an automatic archive invalidation program on the nexus

and it works

http://www.newvegasn...le.php?id=35935

I tried it - but it required DotNet 4 and I don't want to install that on my system.

I noticed that fallout.ini gets overwritten by fallout_default.ini every time I run the game so I just looked at my FO3 ini files and made the [Archive] settings the same.

then you gotta tell the author that his readme is incorrect

because

the new version clearly states it now needs 3.5

WoW thank you really so much, I was going crazy with my FNV Archive Invalidation. Oddly enough it had always worked well until this new 2020 install of the game.

Nothing seemed to work; but I forgot "My Documents" folder: thank you, thank you again, your post has saved me a big headache! :)
