ceallach83
would it be possible for a modder to create a fallout 3 new vegas mod that allowed players to be in each others games in a server host client situation? is there anything against this happening? what i envision is a mod that allows people to team up to campaign together or host their own mod that allows other players to all participate together in a virtual activity, such as a music event, with real artists using motion capture to record the performance with virtual representations of themselves. but the key is can there be multiplayer in fallout? if no, why the hell not? single player is so boring in a world of networking, come on! Thromnambular
Well there is (or was) this mod for Oblivion that added multiplayer. It should be possible to do the same for FO3 or FNV. Edit: There's this too.
scrivener07
I HIGHLY doubt anyone will ever get something like that working. But maybe THIS will interest you a little. And yes I think its POSSIBLE but you could say that about a lot of things. Blah! Thromnambular beat me to it Edited November 2, 2010 by scrivener07
ceallach83
so there is a community of modders lurking here? nice one, hey, nice to meet you. I posted the idea at the centre of all this on another website, ozhiphop where a lot of hip hop artists from Australia, where i'm from, congregate it's getting about as much response as you would expect, next to none, but that's more to do with the lack of vision of my project. to save some time i'm just going to copy paste the link to that thread here, http://ozhiphop.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=117752 i hope some modders can appreciate the vision and put their hands up to get involved, i'm teaching myself the GECK and want to do this as a mod for new vegas, perhaps starting small and seeing where it goes. ceallach83
thankyou for moving my thread to the place you deemed it should be anon mod, i had some trouble finding it but all good now. is anyone aware of any more information in regards to making fallout new vegas multiplayer? or at least able to randomly match two people in the same game world? seems like a crucial feature, how can multiplayer be overlooked? i suspect it has to do with creating a game balance and staying canon but that's not important to most gamers and majority rules. Nihilisaurus
that's not important to most gamers and majority rules.JS Mill warned against the tyranny of the majorty in "On Liberty". This is the kind of reason why.
antonkr
Impossible no?There is a 10 percent chance of us having some sort of mutiplayer that is very laggy and problematic.

bben46
There are multiple reason why I don't believe a multiplayer Fallout3 NV Based on the current game engine will happen. The gambryo engine was never intended for multiplayer, and has enough trouble with single player. There are already many multiplayer games similar enough that most multiplayer enthusiasts already have plenty of games to chose from that already work well with multiple players.Multiplayer, using the gambryo engine, would require far more resources, meaning lower graphics eye candy. And the biggest (for me at least) - NO Mods! All of you multiplayer fanbois, please leave us poor single players at least one decent single player game - EVERY single player game that has added a multiplayer component has spent so much time and money on their multiplayer component that the single player part got badly neglected. WOW was the worst offender with this.
