masterchief47
Hi, i'm having what could be a serious gameplay problem. After i got the sigil stone from the "Breaking the siege of kvatch" quest, i used it on my steel longsword to gain 15 fire damage. But for some reason, it affects me as well! Curious, I tried it with some other weapons in my bag of Holding (from the mod of the same name) with enchantments: Blackwater Blade, Debaser, and some random maces I got from the Oblivion realm, and sure enough, every time I attack, i feel the effects of the enchantment as well. Does anybody know what could cause this, and if there's any solution? I am running a lot of mods, but none of them adds any elements like that. If anyone needs a list of the mods i'm running, just let me know and i will post it. Thanks in advance for your help. Sincerely, masterchief47 P.S: I wasn't sure if this was the place to post this, I hope it was.

Im not sure if this applies to all magical weapons, but some require that your blade skill (and i think some depend even on mysticism and whatnot) be high enough for you to use that weapon. Frostmourne is a good example of this if u try to use the blade at lvl 1 you can kill yourself attacking with it (i know thats a mod but i "think" this applies to all weapons with more powerful enchantments tho i could be wrong). Try upping your skill (setav blade 100) (setav mysticism 100) and see if that makes a difference to if and/or how much damage you recive when you attack. Setav wont affect your leveling and you can easily set your skill back to where it was using the same command.

EDIT: I just loaded up Oblivion, and my problem mysteriously dissappeared. I guess It was just a glitch, or maybe a mod conflict. Thanks for your help. Deleted1217574User
Glad to hear it. I don't really think that's true, about needing a high enough skill for certain effects to work =/ At least, not without mods. What kind of enemy were you fighting? Some enemies have a "Reflect Spell" ability that will reflect the enchantment back on you.

Some enemies have a "Reflect Spell" ability that will reflect the enchantment back on you. It was during the siege of Kvatch, so clannfear runts, scamps, and flame atronachs. AFAIK, none of them has reflect spell, although i'm pretty sure the clannfears have reflect damage.
Deleted1217574User
Actually, that's a pretty likely group. I'm not positive either, but any would make sense.
Smooth613
All of the enemies you listed have reflect damage. Check HERE for more information.
