Gun cane

The problem isn't with modelling the cane, or just making an existing cane shoot a shotgun shell.

 

The problem are the animations, really. If you run around holding your cane like a rifle, well, it's going to look rather silly. Also, when not in use, you'd carry your cane on the back instead of in hand.

 

Otherwise I would have made a sword cane long ago myself.

As I said in the OP, the animation was where I was expecting most of the difficulties to arise. As for running around looking silly, as it is if you have a dress cane equipped you run around brandishing it like a club. I don't think this would be too much worse than that.

good idea. and a sword cane too. has the end of a cane on it. swings like a baseball bat. sounds like the fallout 3 switchblade. or one handed with the disguised sheath in left hand. holdout. medium damage. medium/high critical chance. vendor. npc. or find it in mister holdouts inventory. or free in the lucky 38 penthouse room. if someone could make that to go with the cane gun, it would be a great mod.

Wow, resurrecting an *ancient* thread. Yeah I think that's do-able if the cane doesn't have any amimated parts (and why should it). I can copy some blocks for the ejected shells. But I have no idea for the reloading on the nif of the weapon itself (ie no loading gate, breech etc), but the actual reloading animation will work fine.

 

Same with teh sword cane if your ok with the vanilla animation. Maybe use a niVis to make the blade appear to "spring" out.

This thing would look just fine animation-wise if you used a few animations from WAR (specifically, the ones where the player holds their pistol down at their hip while running). Have them hold the top of the cane while they're doing that and it'd look just fine.

No I wouldn't require a animation replacer to use a weapon, I don't believe that would be a good choice at all. I was referring to reload anim, attack anim, and hand grip. Simply reiterating that if peeps are OK with the standard anims I listed above, this would be something I could put together.
