FalloutNV and the Geck

Hi huys, I'm new to all this mod stuff and I was wondering if you need fallout 3 in order to use the Geck, because when I run Geck v1.5 it tells me "Missing or invaling registry/INI entry", can you guys help me sort this out?

You have the wrong GECK to mod New Vegas...they didn't point people to the right place very well....here is the link to the right download...it's the one at the top of the page. The 1.5 update is only for the FO3 Geck. Good luck and have fun modding!

Yeah, make sure you get the "FALLOUT NEW VEGAS" GECK, not the Fallout 3 one - although they look alike they can NOT be interchanged. Also make sure to extract all GECK files into your fallout NV game directory.

This geck wiki if for FO3, but not a lot has changed so it is a good starting place. Do the My First Vault tutorial and you should be off to a good start.

Just be aware that a lot of the vault pieces may be missing in New Vegas, so you may have to wing it, but it should give you the feel of how to do it.
