Harbinger78
I'm toying with the idea of creating a Mojave Express or Courier faction. What I am thinking of is adding a clothing/armor set for Couriers with a faction tag that would 1) align you with other couriers or with station managers (There should be one in each place that has a drop box, correct?) and 2) Change your status to Neutral with other major factions. This would be to reflect the importance of couriers in a world where they are largely the only way to deliver specific goods/news. Perhaps they can be closely aligned with the caravans? I feel that the Mojave Express has a lot of potential that isn't tapped into. What ideas do you guys have?
fronzelneekburm
Don't spend too much time on custom clothing - there's already so many clothing stuff released and the couriers seem to have a specific clothing, see intro and the dead courier at the mojave express office. What i would rather love to see in such a mod would be extending the real story line by first helping Primm to re-establish a sherriff and getting rid of the powder gagngers and then adding a new quest (That depends on "fixing Primm") to re-establish the Mojave express and get delivery quests from Johnson nash, maybe even repopulate the town and so on. I think that would truly unleash the potential of the mojave express and give it back the importance it might have played before Primms downfall. Harbinger78
Okay, I can see that. There are obviously other couriers out there, as well. Not to mention this guy that passed on the delivery so you could do it. Seems like there is a story there.
fronzelneekburm
Well if you have played NV excessively you probably already know that there are many interesting details in the couriers. FOr example that one courier that denied delivering the Platinum chip and was like "OMG let Courier 6 (The player) do that delivery I'm outta here". There's so much kore to the story. Or the "Courier go home" graffiti under the broken bridge with the wreckage... But whatever you do, i think it's clear that the player has to tidy up Primm first, Nash can't even leave the Vicky and vance with these gangers around... ;) I think many interesting quests could be added. If you fear re-dubbing Nash or so you could add a new NPC that is his "foreman" or "administrator" or stuff that appears in the Mojave express building once you cleaned up town. I think story-wise this could be a real goldmine for a mod...
Relentless666
Maybe you can add a computer terminal in the Primm Office that gives you some delivery assignments. You look at the terminal, accept a job, the package is added to your inventory and all you have to do is deliver it. Once you do the delivery, you get some caps and gain reputation with the Couriers faction. You can spice things up with adding more variety to the jobs - Deliver an organ transplant to a medical clinic; Retrieve a package and (disarm the bomb you'd find in it!); Carry a few letters around (and read them if you want!);
Harbinger78
You're right! I almost forgot about the graffiti, It even says something about Courier #6 on it. So now this raises the question: Who were you to inspire such things? Perhaps as you complete deliveries your memory (lost from the gift Benny gave you) slowly returns. I'm a decent writer, but I'm not sure if I can make a mod of this scope, not the way it deserves to be done. And finishing Primm would have to be the trigger, right.
