Am I the only guy here who isn't a complete pervert and actually plays a male character? Honestly... Every damn save game I've looked at is supposed to be some 'saucy' female... Do NONE of you actually play the gender you are in real life or are there really that many people who are dying to see fake tits? I can't even find one decent male looking character, they all look like some form of Sean Connery and the in-game character generation is an ugly machine.

Well I really didn't know we had to "play" as a male if we are male.

No one HAS to do anything, but I thought the point of an RPG is to create an alternative version of yourself and bring life to that character in a fictional setting, which is why I can't quite understand why all these guys are going around making female characters and modding them to have Triple J Breast size... I mean, I'm a straight man and I appreciate a little eyecandy just like the next guy but I mean come on...

 

It's like in World of Warcraft, almost every guy in that game makes a female blood elf or night elf so they can take their clothes off and /dance or whatever when they're not raiding...

 

I just want to know if I'm the only guy here who's secure enough in my sexuality to play an RPG without needing to see a set of tits or an ass the entire time

i'm a . dude and i always play as a dude on my first playthrough, then on my second i play as a nasty raider *censored*. i prefer playing as a guy though

but my next one will be a female character (for the evil legion *censored* :biggrin:)

 

but in my opinion, playing a female doesn't make you a pervert at all

if you sit and want in front of it, then that's a completely different thing (and quite a disturbing thing, if i may add...... :tongue:)

still, there is nothing wrong with playing a female

and if you look at mods, especially for Oblivion, you will find some slutty stuff for male characters as well (if slutty is the right term, that is)

and there is nothing wrong with that as well, just don't use it if you don't want to

 

but really, don't go here throwing such terms like perverts, especially without any valid reason

And yes... there is a normal... to deny that there is no such thing as 'normal' is ridiculous. I understand that we're all 'unique' and all that jazz but there is still what people consider to be 'the norm.' Without 'the norm,' then we have nothing to gauge whether something or someone is being or is extra-ordinary.

Answer me this... If you say there is no differance between playing a female character and a male character, then why decide to change genders at all?

 

I'm not saying its weird for men to play a female character; if you're a homosexual and you believe that a female character better expresses your personality or even if you're just a really feminine heterosexual male and don't like how men in video games are ALWAYS portrayed as muscle-bound machoist, then by all means go for it... I just don't understand why a normal, straight man feels the need to create a female character.

I always play male characters in RPGs, I don't see the point of playing a female character, different mind-sets lead to different outcomes and when I don't have the mind-set for the character I play, I tend to choose things randomly, which isn't something I want to do, I like to think about my actions and possible benefits/repercussions of those actions

to tell you the truth, i don't really know

i mean, in the game, there isn't much of a difference between playing a male or a female

still, it may be nice to try things differently from time to time, right??

 

to tell you the truth, most of the time, i didn't even look at my character

i didn't even try to get a nice preset, but with the cool beard i chose, and a nice pair of sun glasses, and Boone's 1st Recon Barret, i got one kick-ass look to my char, and i barely saw his face

and then i started using the MK2 Combat helmet and the rebreather, so i didn't see my char's face as well

and i barely had a reason to look at him

 

i don't know why i try female chars, because to tell you the truth, i barely even look at them in game

i just try to play the game and enjoy it, so i concentrate on the game, and not how my character looks

but there is a certain good feeling i get, when i manage to make a decent looking character (when i actually try, that is)

 

but every one of us is different, so we each have our reasons, i guess :)

 

why are you not playing a female, if i may ask??

do you have a problem with doing that??
