Heads are different colors than the body.

The heads of certain un-named NPCs are different colors than their bodies and I'm assuming this is caused by a mod I'm running, so if somebody would be so kind as to look through my load order it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance. :thumbsup:

Are you using type 3 bodies? I found that using the head textures provided in Options&Customization of the TYPE3 V2 textures pack, the textures provided in the DEFAULT head folder helps. I haven't found problems with male bodies(Robert's Male), though. :|

Nope, no body changer mods.

Open your Fallout.ini and check that this line:

bLoadFaceGenHeadEGTFiles=1

Is present in the ini file, if not add it save and see if that works.

I didn't see it, what part would it be under? ([Pipboy],[interfaceFX],

[TestAllCells] etc...)

In notepad press ctrl + f and then paste:

bLoadFaceGenHeadEGTFiles=1

Click find next. If its not present add it...

having the same issue.

bLoadFaceGenHeadEGTFiles=1 -is- in my INI file :(

Here are some examples. The head looks exquisite and the body looks like a miscolored mush of god knows what. Not only is the color off on the males but it looks like terrible terrible textures. (Breeze's Males and Dimonized females)

edit* someone suggested running FO3 Edit and creating a merged patch, and running master update. WHich I did. Didnt fix it.

edit * * Reinstalled the game completely, left out the fluff mods like Lings hair on NPCs, and the type 3 armor replacers just to see if that would do it. Nope.

Someone throw me a bone here -_-

Mismatched Face/Body:
The mismatched face/body bug can be fixed by one of these two solutions:

1) On the NPC data page, select the 'Can be all Races" flag.
2) Turn your mod into an ESM via a tool such as FO3Plugin or FO3Edit.

Note that once you turn your mod into an ESM, you won't be able to edit it with the Geck any more. Most of us with this problem just live with it until release time then turn the mod into an ESM for uploading. Once that is done, turn the mod back into an ESP to continue working on it for later versions, if need be.

If this isn't YOUR mod, then there is little you can do but remove said mod or fix it yourself.

Can you explain 1 in more detail? I went into my fallout 3 data file and there's no NPC folder.

Before adding to a thread, you should check the date of the last post. According to the Terms of Service (link at the top of the page), you should not add to a thread when the last post is more than a month old. The last post in this thread is over three years old.

To answer your question, you will not find an NPC folder in the Fallout 3 data folder. The poster was referring to using FO3Edit and changing the flag using that tool.

FO3Edit can be found here: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/637/?

And the training manual here: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/8629/?

You will need both.
